As you all know it recently became law to microchip cats in England from the age of 20 weeks but did you know microchips need to be registered?

If you’ve adopted a cat from us, we’ll update your cat’s microchip on your behalf. You’ll be given the paperwork once you have officially adopted your cat, which will include your cat's unique microchip number.

If you have had your cat microchipped by a vet or organisation, they’ll let you know how to register your details online. You’ll usually be sent registration documents following the procedure, within a couple of weeks.

If you don’t receive anything, check with the person or organisation that microchipped your cat. Remember to keep your registration documents and cat’s microchip number safe.

Changing your contact details on a cat microchip database can sometimes mean paying a fee. Depending on the database, this might be a one-off fee for the lifetime of your cat, or a cost every time you update.

Comedian Ricky Gervais has donated £1.9 million to animal charities across the globe. 🐶
The stand-up and creator of television shows such as After Life and The Office, has donated a substantial sum raised from ticket sales from his latest Armageddon world tour.
The money will be split equally between 11 worldwide animal charities that have been chosen by Gervais.
These include All Dogs Matter, Animal SOS Sri Lanka, Catastrophes Cat Rescue, Chaldon Animal Sanctuary, Dogs On The Streets, Helping Rhinos, Millions of Friends, Mira Dogs, Paws2Rescue, PDSA and Wild Futures. 😻

I was just thinking about how long I have been running Small Paws Patrol. This page was created in January 2013. We started whilst I was still working part time in an office. For over 5 years, it has been my only job and I love it.

So, Small Paws Patrol has been going for 11 years 😊🎉🥳

Tips for giving catnip to your cat 🌱😺 Most cats will enjoy the safe and short-lived effects of the chemicals found in catnip, silver vine, Tatarian honeysuckle or valerian, but they have no control over their response, and each cat reacts differently.

👍 For cats, choice is always key, so when offering plants such as catnip, do so in a quiet area with enough space for them to react, away from their food, water, litter trays and resting places. This way, the cat can choose when they interact with any toys or items containing these plants - they might sniff, lick, bite, chew, face rub, body roll, groom or show other increased physical activity.

🪴 You can even make your garden more by planting catnip, valerian, cat grass, catmint and other cat-safe plants for them to enjoy or try them in pots around the house.
