Another session with beautiful pup Autumn where we started to work on her impulse control, what a little star she was and did so so well. I always say with training that preventing negative behaviours rather than curing them is so much easier and spending time working on positive reinforcement is really important ❤️🐶

I’m always telling clients the importance of teaching their puppy a “Settle” or “Place” cue, so a place for pup to go and relax for a period of time. It was therefore so lovely to receive this message out of the blue today from one of my clients I worked with some time ago ❤️🐶 if you would like help with this or want to find out more please get in touch

Wiltshire Police has launched an OK9 Wellbeing and Trauma Support Dog Network to help support the mental health of officers and staff.

Many roles within the Force are demanding and sometimes dangerous, with many officers frequently exposed to trauma. The OK9 initiative aims to provide some light relief from those roles.

OK9 was started by Oscar Kilo, the National Police Wellbeing Service, to help to provide light relief from the stress of police work. There are currently over 150 OK9 Wellbeing dogs across the country, with Wiltshire Police’s Wellbeing dogs adding to that already impressive number.

What we do !

DW Dog Training and Pet Care are able to provide one to one training for your puppy or adult dog and can help you with things like basic obedience to make the time your spend with your companion more enjoyable.

Being more in control of your dog will not only make walks more pleasurable for you both but it will also enhance the bond between you.

Training is such an important part of your dogs routine and will give your dog mental stimulation and also make them want to do more to please you, I believe that the more you train them the more they are eager to learn.

Training must always be carried out by using positive reinforcement techniques, there is absolutely no need for you to have to result to things like shock collars or other products that inflict any type of pain on your dog, this is just not the way to go and not only will this cause unnecessary pain but it could also cause problems later on.
