❗ ⚠️ Watch Out for Heatstroke in Dogs
Heatstroke can be life-threatening, especially for dogs exercising in hot weather. It requires urgent veterinary attention.
Signs to look out for:
Collapse
Lethargy
Excessive panting
Vomiting or diarrhoea
Purple gums and red skin
What to do:
Move your dog to a cool, shaded area with good airflow. Wet their coat with cool tap water and go straight to the vet. If possible, offer a small amount of water and keep cooling them with car air conditioning during transport.
Important:
Take extra care with short-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds, older dogs, puppies, and those who are overweight. They are more at risk.
Stay informed and keep your dog safe this summer.
