Hello from Thimble, bunnies and bunny peops! 💖🐇🐰 I will not be around for much longer, and after so many years at Helicopter Ears, I feel the Bridge is nearing for me, the strongest, hopefulest, and final Helicopter Ears bunny. I've grown smaller, and I'm getting weaker every day. And still I'm standing — with a difficulty but still upright, the last and final Helicopter Ears bunny. It's been a privilege and such a happiness to grow old by your side. Ah, what a ride it's been! We've hopped so many miles at Helicopter Ears! We cried so many sad and happy tears, across so many years! It's time to say goodbye. I'm fading, and I feel that my hooms can see and understand I'm ready. I know that they won't keep me waiting at the gate. It's time to go. Let's say our goodbyes and wave our paws as I go to the other side. I send my love. I send my blessings. I send my bunny kisses. Hello from Thimble, bunnies, the last of the Helicopters and going strong! Reporting fresh from my bum wash, I'm pleased to say all is good. I'm doing well and eating even better. I'm so old now I refuse to count the years. And yes, I do need a bit more TLC than in my younger days, falling and rolling a bit more, but in my indoor run, I'm safe, warm, and kept a good eye on. Dear friends. We've been contacted by our vets Acorn House Vets in Bedford, who had two male bunnies dumped at their practice today. We're heartbroken to see these bunnies so unwanted they've simply been dumped, but we're not able to take them in. Can anybunny help? Please email [email protected] or call 01234 261839. Hello friends! Thimble here with a little update. I'm back to my normal eating schedule after my vet's toof work, and my snuffles and sneezes are all gone after a 10-day antibiotic course. In other words, I'm hoppy and healthy again despite my advanced age and even mobility impairments. Hop your summer has been great. Dear bunnies, today I paid off some of my bill: about £166. Also today, worryingly, I suddenly started sneezing—and quite a lot, which means I need to go to the vet again. But there is still money outstanding on my account—about £160—and I cannot simply go to the vet and add to the existing bill. Please help me because, as you probably know, we are now looking after a little girl from Ukraine also, and the money's really tight. We simply don't have such big money right now, and Kim won't get paid until the end of the month, while I may need a vet soon.

Hello from Thimble ❤️

Look at me go at my tomatoes! These yummy cherry-berries were always popular with Helicopter Ears bunnies. They're full of potassium—much more so than bananas—which is so good and necessary for your heart, and low in sugar. Paddington our heart failure bunny even used to drink a small dish of passata every day, as did our other oldies such as Teddy, Dumpling, Waffles... And especially in the heat, when we drink so much and lose so much fluid, potassium is vital. There is an opinion that tomatoes toxic, being from the nightshade family, but we researched well, and we consulted vets, and it does seem to be more of an opinion rather than a fact (tomato vine, on the other hand, if yours come on the vine, should definitely NOT be eaten due to a very high concentration of something I can't remember what that shouldn't be consumed).

I feel completely well now. Definitely back to my energetic self. Thank you so much for your donations toward my vet bill! I now have £166.65 toward it, and there's just over £160 to go. I really want to pay it this Saturday, not only because my precious vet helped me so much and I may need her help again but also because it's the right thing to do. Can you please help me? Hello from Thimble. Can you see "good news" all over my cage? Lotsa little round good news. I'm eating again. It took me a couple of days, but I am eating: even nuggets. All weekend, I had everyone worried, and finally I can say I am recovering. Let's hope it was just my teeth and it's all over now.

Now I just need to pay my vet bill, which is £314.23, and I have about £100 towards it already. Mr T says he has a bit in his cat account, but I'm very reluctant to help myself to his funds, as they're his only "insurance" if something happens to him. Could you please help me pay the rest? If you can, please either call my vet direct on 01234261839 and say you want to pay towards Thimble's bill, from Helicopter Ears (please let me know here if you do this; it'll make me very happy), or you can send funds to me by PayPal to [email protected].

Hi from Thimble. Just as I said, my tooths have been giving me trouble. I'm being kept overnight and am on the surgery lost for tomorrow. Hop-fully I'll be all better in no time. Hi from Mr Truffles. Today, I woke up to pellets not touched and parsley unfinished in my friend Thimble's run. The last time he went to a vet for such a problem was because of a tiniest spur—but once that was removed, he was right back on his veg and nuggets. I hope it's the same again: a minor issue that needs a minor procedure. I booked him in to see a vet this evening, and I will be posting later to update you and ask for help with his bill. He's the last bunny standing at Helicopter Ears, and my last bunfriend, and I reassured him that we'll definitely get him sorted. He's old now, very old, probably 9, but he's in buntastic shape.

On another note, my new human Katy is doing great. I sleep in her bed every night and wake her up when it's time to rise. She typed up adoption papers, and apparently both Thimble and I are her adoptees now. She's on holidays now and taking up all of our time—even mine! And that, as I'm sure you'll understand, is the reason we're not posting a lot. But Thimble's not been forgotten—far from it. He gets all the love, care and attention he needs (and deserves, may I add, because he had been through a lot before coming here).

Hi all. I'm very sad to bring the sad news that our little Paz was put to sleep this afternoon. He was a beautiful, peaceful, friendly bunny and a real joy to have around. Despite the vets'best efforts, he went rapidly downhill today, and because he was suffering, we made the decision that putting him to sleep was the right thing. We'll miss this lovely boy. Binky free, buddy. 🌈 I'd also like to send a massive thank you to Paz's guardian angel Rosemary, who enabled us to give him this last chance. Kim @ Helicopter Ears ❤️
