Kena has always been a bit wild. She's never grown out of her kitten stage and has bags of personality, even if she does crack me up a lot of the time!
Here she is going nuts in the snow this morning.. ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คฃ
If you can train a wolf with positive reinforcement then you can train a dog with it. No need for tools, corrections etc.
We had the privilege of taking Flora from The Northern Lights Wolf Sanctuary in Canada for a walk today, and yes she is 100% grey wolf trained through treats and play :)
Practicing our weaves at Scentral Bark the other day. Have you had a go yet? It's not as easy as it looks for a big dog ๐
Remember to randomly recall your dog all the time out on walks, not just when you see a distraction.
If you watch this video closely, you will see for a split second when I recall Nuca he briefly scans infront of him before coming into me.
This is absolutely a mistake I made training him and something we are working on - recently changed his recall cue to his nickname and strengthening the cue.
I only used to recall him when I saw wildlife up ahead so he automatically scans now!
He's getting better and it's very brief now.... But he used to freeze for a few seconds. Don't make my mistake of pairing your recall cue with something else in the environment ๐
Arcy knows how to play tug, it's still alive after a play session with him thankfully ๐คฃ

Nucy used to really struggle on this track.
Pheasants, hare, deer are common to jump out of nowhere.
We do a lot of work of chasing his food instead, and I can successfully recall him off the chase now.
Practice makes perfect ๐

Millie enjoying her treat enrichment! ๐ป

Ah lordy, this is why squeaky balls are limited in our house ๐

Just Bazzy making some gingerbread biscuits as we like to say ๐

We've been doing a bit of work on focus and settling at home with duration and I tested him out today at his agility class (his super happy place).
He can find it difficult to chill when other dogs are running courses and he has to wait his turn! He loves it too much.
Might not look like much but I'm happy with his improvement today :) Especially because this is a new class today which means different dogs, and he can find this hard to cope with.
