And Thats Exactly What They Are Doing Reacting Impulsively To A Situation - Not Protecting You Unfortunately 🤷‍♀️ Can Dogs Protect You? Absolutely! With A Great Deal Of Obedience Combined With Protection Training Which Will Cost You Into The Thousands For A Decent Result. Negativity Can Really Strip Away From Who You Are, We See It In Humans And I See It In Dogs 🐶 As Part Of The Training Process, With ALOT Of Dogs We Have To Build Them Back Up Into The Dog They Was Before The World Got It’s Hands On Them! 🤞 Elvis Was A Nervous Wreck From Start To Finish On His Walks, He Was Hyper Vigilant On Things Coming His Way Which Really Took The Joy Out Of His Walks And It Took The Sparkle Out Of Him.. It’s Exhausting Being Worried 24/7 😱 Elvis Is A Working Labrador So Bringing Him Back To His Roots And Giving Him A Job Which Satisfies His Innate Instincts Is A Good Place To Start! Elvis Has A Little Ducky That He Will Retrieve So We Started There, As You Can See In The Beginning He Would Run For It But Fail To Return It 😂 We Had To Train Behaviours With Markers And Chain Them All Together, He Needed To Be Confident Enough To Hold, Motivated Enough To Retrieve And Return It To His Owner ✨ We Built The Picture & Elvis’ Instincts Did The Rest, My Heart Melted When I Saw The End Clip When His Owner Sent It! There Has Been Instances Where They Have Come Closer And I’ve Had To Use My Body And Legs As A Block And A Way To Remove The Threat! There’s Usually More That Meets The Eye 👀 When It Comes To Tackling Any Behavioural Problem You Have To Pick Away To The Root Of The Issue.. With Alfie And Milo There’s Lots To Chip Away At! Milo Is One Of Two Littermates Owned By The Same Owner. Unfortunately Through Bad Breeding Practises, Early Life Experiences And A Lack Of Training Or Exposure They Have 2 Very Fear Aggressive Litter Mates Who Now Cant Stand The Sight Of Each Other 🙄 Both Learnt To Be Reactive To The Front Door And Not Long After Reactive To What Came Through The Door, This Behaviour Pattern Definitely Played Into Their Reactivity Outdoors. Both Dogs Are Mega Lead Pullers, The Tension On The Lead Makes Each Dog Feel Trapped And A Scared Dog Who Feels Trapped Likely Will Pick Fight As A Response As Flight Is Taken Away 😱 Milo Was Always Too Stressed For Any Food Or Play, Slowing Him And His Brain Down Aswell As Introducing A Tool He Could Understand And Respond Too Has Changed The Game And We Are Seeing Flickers Of Engagement Poke Through - Next Stop Distractions 😙 Great Job Milo ❤️
