Is thrilled with how the 'new girl' has settled in!! After only 10 days with us we manage our first 'upsize' hack or 'beautiful bay club' hack whatever you want to call it!! Everyone enjoyed their new mount and all the stirrups could come down a hole or two as we were no longer cramming ourselves onto tiny pony's 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have waited a long time to manage this, after waiting nearly a year for the arrival of the infamous 14hh pony but GG was definitely worth the wait 🥰🥰🥰

Has had a manic busy week this week and on my list of things to do was to worm count my horses and ponies at home. Now I usually do this with my vet but didn't actually have the vet coming so would have had to driven samples about which seemed like a faff in my busy week. I thought I would try an online worn count but by the time I had looked at all the options was losing the will to live! Then Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store told me they sold worm count kits, which I could post in a pre paid envelope they gave me and get results the next day. And this was what happened and it was super easy and cheaper than buying online and paying P and P for my tests to arrive .... Saved me money and faff 🥳

Had the pleasure of seeing Rosie and Stonie at their first show together after a year of working together! After bags of courage, determination, patience, planning and practice, this pair really came together in a situation they have never encountered before and to watch the way they worked together and dealt with everything as a team was an absolute pleasure! I am very proud to be associated with this combination and know this is the beginning to the second part of their journey 🤩🤩💕💕
I also wanted to give Rosie's parents a massive big up, as they have moved heaven and earth to help this become possible and seeing how overjoyed they were today, made today's experience even more special!

Was absolutely thrilled today to see Claudia and Crisp on their first outing back after recovering from injury, to take a win at Wix!!! Claudia and Crisp have worked really hard to rehabilitate and I have been honoured to help them along their way and now can't wait to see them at the Veteran Associated League Finals having got their qualifying scores today 🎉🎉💖💖

Is thrilled to see after an easy winter hacking and teaching Bryoni to rise in trot, Super Gran has still got it! At 26 years old this girl is just starting to take a bit more maintaining but with chloe spalding's expert hairdressing skills and Laura from Baileys expert advice, I am confident this little lady with be back in the show ring to retain her national show hunter pony title and junior equitation titles 💕💕💕💪💪💪

Is thrilled with the condition of this little mare who is 17 days into ulcer treatment and yet has been talent spotted as part of the TSR Amateur Rider scheme this morning!!
Having taken advise from the girls in the shop, we have added some linseed, to our normal 'healthy tummy' and Bailey's balancer coming out winter to promote coat shine and condition ready for the showing season and are seeing results already 💪💪💖

Is just soo thrilled with Cisco's condition at the moment which has only developed since I have changed his feed to Bailey's Performance Balancer. For a horse that has always struggled to get the last little bit of topline, this feeding switch recommended by the knowledgeable and helpful team at Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store has left him ready to razzle, dazzle at the National Petplan Finals in April!!

Had a quick sneaky double win at the very friendly Topthorn Arena to get the season's qualifying points in one hit 🎊🎊🎉🎉 Cisco is going to have a quick rest, then we are back into training with Julie Hugo-Ross to take the step up this season 🤞🤞💪💪

Is going to have to out Edna up for s%$e! After putting a side rein on her for the first time this morning on the lunge and seeing how quality this pony is, I have made the decision to advertise her quickly before I decide I can't sell because it will be too gutting!
12.2hh, 5 year old, mare, registered part bred, roan.
This pony has been an absolute dream to break in and ride away and has proved herself safe on lead rein and off. Kids have hacked her, done poles, small rustic fences and handled her. She has done pony rides including trotting with my toddler aboard and really showed herself to be a hugely genuine sort. She loves to work and comes over in the field when someone goes out in the hope they have come for her. She is the easiest pony I have ever broken in and has a great mind. She has the potential in the right hands to go all the way with an active hind leg and the showing 'daisy cutter' front end. If I keep her and start working her into a contact, I know it will kill me to sell her as she has all the potential to be an RI or HOYS pony but I have a rather strong team of ponies here ATM and she is surplus to requirements. Kids all love her but they were all made to chose one pony each and Edna is the spare and frankly she is way too good to be 'the spare'. Price in the upper £37%@ as she is still green and home is mega important.

Is practising what I preach and setting DD and Robyn up for the best chance for success at the National BRC Dressage to Music Finals in October! Today, we have hired Bury farm to practise, practice, practise and let DD see everything pre competition and the experience was very valuable for this young combination!

Had a fabulous time at Fordham House Livery this morning with the girls and ponies, working on building confidence and fitness and it was just perfect for that! Beautifully maintained and loads to do, the girls and ponies definitely enjoyed their trip, with Erin and Dangermouse really coming together as a team now it was soo lovely to watch, whilst still developing DD's jumping to help Robyn! Took 'Cisco' and the versatile 'DD' for some British Dressage - South & East Region training and as usual had a very interesting time! Cisco was his normal gentleman like self and DD was soo professional in her approach to work yesterday in what was quite a 'scary' and busy arena with a lot going on, so I was thrilled!

Has been showjumping with Claverings Farm Arena Hire this evening with flitchway riding club and the girls really were on form! DD and Robyn didn't touch a pole with 3 clear rounds in super quick times and jumped their highest round to date, wearing their new Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store numnah 🤩🤩

Erin and Mouse, not soo clear but jumped also their biggest course to date and they both tried their hearts out... all practise for the big win next time 😍😍😍

Is finally home with animal and human washing machines busy going after what had been a mega weekend!! Soo much learnt this weekend but the bullet points are:
Cisco is stronger and more adaptable than ever before,
DD and Robyn have finally found their relationship and I now see them starting their road to the red frillies,
Danger Mouse is an absolute dude and will totally be appropriate for Bryoni to begin her lead rein career on when she turns 3 years old; after his level headed performance at Royal International,
Robyn is an absolute legend and can perform exhausted and at any level and still manages to find her top performance and keep her cool!
I am exhausted but sooo happy and the horses are now going to enjoy a few days off eating grass and having their Horslyx in their fields as a little treat!

Has had a very busy day at Royal International Horse Show with Robyn and Danger Mouse! These two tried their hearts out today with Danger Mouse as the only veteran pony in the ring and although they didn't manage a top 8 placing in the massive M and M first ridden class, they did go clear round the Hickstead Mini Derby and Danger Mouse, still very new to us, behaved impeccably (this is very important to us as we are lining him up to be Bryoni's lead rein pony in Novembet when she turns 3 years old) and we were thrilled!!
Mouse looked 100% the part with his new shoes from the fabulous Clark Farrier services, his pre competition treatment with Alice McEwen Veterinary Physiotherapist and thank you soo much to the amazing Jenny Basham for her hardwork getting a saddle to fit our beautiful boy!! Lastly, thank you to Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store for ordering all my essential SUPREME PRODUCTS to make sure our little man looked perfect for the ring 🥰

Took some time out of teaching today to take the girls and the ponies to KYLOE FARM-Arena Hire to get some practise pre Royal International mini Derby next week!! Very hot but excellent riding by the girls and the ponies were fabulous even though it was very busy with tractors and the donkeys were very interesting 😂🤣 Such a fabulous place to go... beautiful facilities, easy to find and really friendly! Even got a cheeky photo with the Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store banner 👍

Has had one hell of a week this week and San Francisco gave his all at the National Petplan Equine Winter Championships 2021 to take fourth in the Medium bronze and eleventh in the Elementary silver!
There are many products that we use to help keep us on the road when training and competing but one that has been vital this year is NAF Equine's 'Easy Breathing Liquid'! 'Cisco' had become much more affected by dust and pollen in the last few years and managing with wet hay or haylage, dust free bedding and having him in during the day, is no longer sadly guaranteed to keep his breathing operating to its optimum. Having tried a few products, the Easy Breathing Liquid has just done the job! Easy to use, reasonably priced, palatable and effective it has become a must for us in summer months, especially as it is a 'clean product' and competition legal 👍

Has been very busy doing affiliated showing with my kids and their ponies recently and there have been a few products I absolutely could not have done without. My favourite shine product is actually Shapley's hi shine shampoo, I add to warm water and using a brush lather the ponies up with it, then wash off and I am never disappointed with the finish! As it is not a product you are adding to the coat it leaves no slippy film on the coat, which is very important for showing as you typically have no numnah or saddle cloth..... this for me is my starting spot for all showing show preparation and I am never disappointed with the result!! 🤩🤩🤩 Purchased from Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store who have been super giving me tips as I have had to remember all my old showing tricks!

Is having a tricky week with Cisco doing everything in his power to damage himself 🙈 On my speed dial this week are The Acorns Equine Clinic and Alice McEwen Veterinary Physiotherapist in an effort to keep this show on the road for the Dorset Area Festivals Thursday this week 🙄 These have become a must have from Broomfields Farm Equestrian & Country Store for aggressive ice treatment courtesy of the Arma Hot Cold Relief boots - simple to use and re use and saving me hours and hours of cold hosing 👏👏👏👏

Finally managed to get a picture of Cisco, wearing his sashes and ribbons following his win in the: Elementary British Riding Clubs Senior Intermediate Winter Finals and the Medium too, becoming the Overall Individual Champions 2021!! The competition ended up taking place online because of the dreaded Covid, which was a very different experience but we are looking forward to taking all this practice out and about this year to some horsey parties 🤩🤩🤩

Took on this little man 6 months ago and today yet again he proved himself to be the best 'little man' a girl could ask for! Erin won her M and M BSPS class this morning and secured her ticket for the championships and Robyn won her M and M class this afternoon, gaining herself a spot at the RIHS and a direct ticket to the Supreme Championships for the day! Still got some work to do but the way this little dude has developed in such a short time makes me soo proud and the joy he brings my girls is immeasurable..... Mr Dangermouse has been bought lots of sweets by his little humans tonight and he deserved them all 🥰🤩

Is fast learning there is no feeling as good in the world, as when your clients text you and tell you they just had a double win at a BD show on a VERY sensitive horse you have been helping them train for 18 months!! This combination have had a rollercoaster and I am over the moon their confidence and understanding of each other has now hit a point, they can go to only their 3rd show ever and bust out a double win in a new venue..... Well done Lydia McEwen, may this be the first of many 🥰😇🤩
