Short Barkin Sides – Terms and Conditions


Please make sure the dog has been walked or let out before the groom so the dog can relieve itself before coming into the salon. In the case of any dog needing a shave down/clipped down (matted dogs) the owner must be aware that irritation can occur from this process as well as uncovering cuts and other potential problems. The owner agrees that Short Ba

rkin Sides will not be liable for further grooming effects of matt clipping or problems uncovered by clipping off a matted, neglected coat. In the salon no dog will be subjected to any stress or discomfort. Short Barkin Sides will photograph or video every case of neglect brought in for grooming and we have the right to use this when appropriate. The owner agrees to inform Short Barkin Sides if the dog has any aggressive tendencies or has previously bitten. If the dog represents signs of danger at the salon we reserve the right to muzzle your dog or refuse to groom. Short Barkin Sides has the right to refuse to groom or finish a groom if a dog is showing dangerous signs putting the groomer or other dogs in the salon in danger, full price will still be charged as at this point it is too late to fill your appointment. We assume that your dogs coat is in a normal condition meaning that you brush your dogs coat regularly between appointments and that when the dog comes in to the salon we will be presented with the dog in an unmated state, if the dog is in a condition other than this it is possible the groom will take longer and additional charges will be incurred. If you are unsure about what products or brushes should be used between the appointments please don’t hesitate to call for some help and advise. The owner agrees that Short Barkin Sides can use before and after pictures of the groom on social media. No personal information given to the salon will be shared with another party due to data protection. Short Barkin Sides requires at least 24 hour notice for cancellation of appointment to ensure that the appointment can be filled. Failure to do this will result in a 50% charge of the cost of appointment. Please note that if you arrive more than 10 minutes late your appointment may not be able to go ahead as the groomers are on a tight schedule, this will also incur a 50% charge of appointment. The groomers will either give you a pick up time or will call you 20 minutes before your dog is ready for pick up. If you are any later than 15 minutes past the agreed pick up time a charge of £5 every 15 minutes will be added to the cost of the groom.
