It's new class time! My classes for puppies and for adult dogs are in Bowburn and Framwellgate Moor.

As well as all of the other really important training exercises, I include the KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme in all of my classes!

I have worked professionally with dogs (and other animals) for over 40 years, and have specialised in Training and Behaviour for nearly 25 years!

Please note: the group classes are not suitable for dogs that are reactive to other dogs or people, but if you are having problems just check out my Calm Dog Course or email me on [email protected]

A note to say Thank You ☺️

I get to work with so many lovely animals and their owners and I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you 🙏!!

Almost all of my clients find me via recommendations, referrals, word of mouth or people who return to my classes as they welcome new furry companions into their families.

Durham BID have a fantastic campaign to share dog friendly businesses in Durham with you. Check out the post to find places to take your puppy or dog to practice their’Out and About’ skills (and have a drink or bite to eat while you are there, of course 🐶😊)

We've recently launched the Dog-Friendly Durham campaign and can't wait to get lots of businesses involved.

We've already got the fabulous canine loving Vennels Café, The Coffee House Durham, Chapters, The Half Moon Inn, Durham and Tango Durham involved and we'd love to get more.

If you're a business in Durham that would welcome a pooch, simply comment below, or drop us a message and we'll add you to our ever-growing list and send you a super-duper sticker to display in your window.

It’s Coronation Day today!

🐶 This week we had two King Charles Spaniels in class, they’re definitely ready for the celebrations!

Whatever your plans this Coronation Weekend, whether you’re having a street party or watching at home on the television, I wanted to share a couple of tips that you might find helpful.

🥳 Celebrations and parties are fun for us but our dogs may find it all a bit overwhelming. Make sure your dog has somewhere quiet to retreat to if they find it all a bit too much for them.

🍰 Cakes and party food are very tempting for your dog, if you’re having guests over then make sure everyone knows what your dog is allowed to eat and what’s off limits. Having some dog friendly treats on hand may help distract your dog from foods they aren’t allowed.

🐾 If you’re making the most of the long bank holiday weekend and heading out to explore, make it exciting for your dog too. Bring a toy and practice playing fetch in new surroundings or bring some treats and try some outdoor training - keeping your dog’s attention when there’s lots going on around them is a really important skill to keep practicing no matter how old your dog is.

💥 There are likely to be fireworks throughout the weekend so make sure your indoor and outdoor pets are safe and secure. Walk your dogs before it gets dark, close curtains, turn on lights, have background soothing music, and a safe place if your indoor pets needs to hide. For outdoor small pets you can cover hutches or bring them indoors.
