We take in, rehabilitate and find homes for unwanted Irish racing greyhounds. There are many common misconceptions about this gentle breed of dog.

We also work to educate the public, and people involved in the racing industry, that greyhounds make great pets. We aim to promote greyhounds by making people aware of all the unique qualities that make them such perfect pets and companions Many people have never met a greyhound face to face and have no idea at all what they are really like. Often people do not realise greyhounds are great with ch

ildren, that many can live happily with cats and other small animals, and that they are in fact couch potatoes who do not need a lot of exercise. We also work to educate the public about the realities of the Greyhound Racing Industry. We look after approximately 25 greyhounds at any one time in the UK. They are kept in private boarding kennels near Cromer where we rent spaces, or fostered in volunteers homes until they can be adopted into kind homes. We neuter and vaccinate each dog and give them a veterinary check before they are re-homed. All of our dogs will have their prospective home checked by one of our volunteers. We rely on public donations to enable us to carry out our work rescuing these beautiful creatures.

Our long stay hound Larry has found his forever home and it is THE perfect home for him.

Here's what his new mum says -

Introducing Larry 🩷 he’s a young handsome lurcher about 18 months -2 years found wandering with no chip or collar , he was going to be put to sleep but Kerry Greyhounds UK took him into kennels .
Thank goodness they did ! He is an absolutely amazing boy .. funny , silly, playful, affectionate , gentle and such a good boy 💖 he gets on so well with all my gang and has fitted in so well xx
My beautiful little Fifi was a Kerry Greyhounds rescue and I really feel she sent Larry to me 💖🐾

***. LARRY IS RESERVED ***
Why does no one want Larry - our loveable 2 year old lurcher lad?
Super friendly, handsome Larry has been patiently waiting in kennels for nearly 9 months for a foster/permanent home.
He walks well on the lead (but will pull on sight of deer but, then, he is a Lurcher!) and is good with all dogs large and small.

**** UPDATE **** Billy is off to his foster home tomorrow, can't wait to see this lovely lad reach his full potential. We are sure he will make someone a brilliant companion. *** URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED*** 🙏 Please can you help Billy. His current home can only keep him for 2 weeks. Please Note - Billy is not yet in our care as we need to find a home for him first. The profile below was not written by us. He is not now wearing a thin collar or on a retractable lead, that was how he was handed over. The training methods being used at the moment are not methods that we would use. ❤️ Billy is a 2 year old lurcher who was rescued after being sold on Gumtree for £50. 🙃 He is a very playful young dog. He is a busy boy who likes to be involved with everything that goes on in the house and is affectionate with people. He loves other dogs, he is respectful of older ones but loves to spend time with other youngsters who can match his level of energy and don't mind playing a bit of rough and tumble. Billy can be protective of food bowls and if his bed, it is likely he hasn't had much in his life so far and wants to keep the things that are important to him. He can try to show dominance over seats on the sofa but will respond well to correction. His fosterer is mainly feeding by hand at the moment so he will start to realise that human hands bring nice things instead of taking them away, and is not allowing any shows of dominance, this firm approach is working well and he is responding to it more and more as the days go on. 🐾🐾 Billy absolutely loves walks and needs the chance to burn off his energy with a good race around. He is good at walking to heel without pulling but can be strong at times if he sees something that he wants to chase. Billy would do well in a household with other young dogs to play with and where someone is home most of the time. He needs someone with experience who will continue to help him learn the rules of home life.
