Walter has been with us around a year now. He needed a lot of time here as his start in life was pretty terrible. He was both physically and behaviourally neglected prior to arriving and so had a great deal to learn.

He has learnt to walk on a lead, has coped with life in our family pack of dogs and is getting better at passing unknown dogs on walks.

Walt is loving, sweet natured and despite being something of a victim by nature has come a very long way indeed.

Walter needs an experienced home, ideally with at least one other dog who can continue his learning and welcome him into their family. He cannot live with cats and would benefit from a calm adult situation . Such a sweet boy who deserves the chance to move forward. PM with interest.

Rodney was very interested to hear that A Bite To Eat are our supporters and have just made a generous donation to our cause from their Summer Fun Event. Although he was more interested in the - Bite to Eat bit and thinks he’d like I meet these nice people🤣🤣.

Sometimes I think of this rescue as the “you don’t have to” place. Don’t mistake me, all our dogs have routine and boundaries which in many cases stop their fearful aggression and save their lives. Like Lucy for example. Others like Noah and Barney and many others just cannot anymore cope with a human pressured life, they chill in their own spaces with company around and no stress. Sanctuary life helps them cope and cope well.

We could really use some washing up liquid of any variety, some pet wipes and some disposable gloves size Lge.

Reg would also trouble you for some Butchers tins if can.

Bertie is another of our sanctuary dogs. Bulldogs are very sadly overbred and badly bred often. People have commented on the beauty of his colour, little do they know that breeding for such attributes has led to puppies being bred with Spina Bifeda, a propensity for ulceration in the eyes - hence poor Bertie having lost an eye and a whole host of other defects.

Bertie like Jimmy before him was born a double incontinent dog which when discovered by an owner resulted in his being abandoned to the stray system - like Jimmy before him.

These dogs do not ask to be born with pretty coats and serious physical defects and they certainly don’t deserve dumping because they are difficult to accommodate.

Bertie, like Jimmy before him, loves his life, I keep him clean and do not begrudge him any of that. It is sad that humans don’t think a little more about the animal and a little less about their desire for beauty.

It is so nice to be able to share some positive news. Especially as I have had to turn away three dogs this week - I simply haven’t a corner. Dave now Monty is going from strength to strength.

His owners makes it look easy but they are a rare breed who work hard and make allowances for damaged dogs like Monty. I need more like them. Thank you for your hard work and care.

Founded over 10 years ago, this Rescue takes in last-chance dogs that others refuse to accept - dogs that vets have nowhere to send; dogs that are destined to be destroyed through no fault of their own. As a dog behaviourist and trainer, Ruth had become aware of the huge need of these ‘difficult-to-home’ dogs and her Rescue is now bursting at the seams. More and more dogs are purchased and discarded by owners with little thought to their welfare, and a lack of UK laws prohibiting breeding creates an endless source of vulnerable dogs. Vets in the awful position of being asked to destroy a dog, phone Ruth daily with desperate pleas for her help........ Devon Dog Behaviour Rehab & Rehome CIC have given a future to many, many dogs that otherwise faced a tragic end.

This year I decided to change the calendar. I took a risk on an idea and I have just seen the results.

We have a dog buggy that was kindly donated for Jimmy when he struggled to walk towards the end but still wanted to get out and about. It feels right to donate this to another needy canine so they can enjoy life. Would suit either one med/ Lge dog or several littles together.

I am sure my boy would want another dog to benefit. Pm the page if your dog is in need.
