Our little Lottie turns 1 month old today 🎉 We can’t believe how fast this month has gone, but we already can’t imagine not having Lottie in our lives! She is developing perfectly, and is growing into her personality more and more each day, and she is a wee cheeky one! Ivy has been wonderful with her, and seems to be enjoying just having one to look after rather than 8 😅 Here are a few pictures of her over the last month 🩷

A very happy 2nd birthday to Ivy’s first litter, Angus, Benjamin, Clova, Flynn, Mike, Raasay, Keeva and Billy, with lots of love from Granny Maisie, Mum Ivy and 3 1/2 week old wee sister Lottie. 🎉🎈🎂

In the early hours of Sunday 14th April, Ivy gave birth to a single perfect girl. This pregnancy can only be described as an emotional rollercoaster, with 3 scans showing a hugely different number of pups - so in the end we just had to wait and see. Ivy delivered an hour and a half after getting out of bed, just as our "midwife" helper was coming through the door! When no further pups were appearing we took Ivy and the pup to the Glasgow Vet School emergency service where it was confirmed there were no further pups.

A single pup litter is quite rare, particularly in larger breeds of dogs and when the bitch has previously had a big litter. We know we did everything right in terms of mating timings and pregnancy care and this was simply mother nature's way of deciding what was meant to be.

Our joy is obviously tinged with disappointment for the wonderful families from our waiting list who we haven't been able to provide with their new addition. A lovely and special part of being a breeder is getting to know our pups forever families, seeing the happiness the pup brings to their life, hearing about their development as they grow and even meeting up for walks. We are keeping everything crossed that the other breeders we have recommended will bring a new addition for the families soon.

Finally, introducing our Lottie, a very special girl indeed and a longed for addition to our flattie family.

🎉🥳💛 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAISIE 💛🥳🎉

Today our wonderful Maisie Moo turned 10! She is the most lovely dog, so calm, patient, and fun, and has been the best mother and grandmother to all of our pups! ♥️

🌟 Coming soon… PUPPIES 🌟

We are sooo excited to announce that Ivy is expecting her second litter of puppies, due in around 3 weeks time! This is a repeat of her May 2022 mating with the very handsome James, Ballyriver Back to Basics. We are looking forward to welcoming more pups into the world, and are already preparing for their arrival, including a trip with Ivy to Pets at Home yesterday to pick out some toys for her new pups! Ivy is showing lots of signs of impending motherhood and her tummy has started to grow. Maisie is also doing well, and is excited for the extra food she will inevitably receive when Ivy’s meal count increases!

We have a waiting list for a puppies however do have some places left. If you are interested, please get in touch by messenger and we will arrange a time to chat.

Happy 3 month Birthday to our much loved "Scottish Islands" litter. They were the most adorable, affectionate, intelligent easy going pups ever, it was a joy to have them for the first eight weeks of their lives. They all have amazing forever loving homes with lovely families and we are so proud to hear that they have all settled so well. We have already had the opportunity to meet up with Raasay and Mike and are looking forward to seeing Billy at the weekend. Thanks to the talented Fiona for the brilliant puppy pictures taken when they were 6 weeks old.

🌟 PUP DATE 🌟

Today we said goodbye to the last two members of the gang who left for their fur-ever homes! We have absolutely loved the past 9 weeks and watching the puppies grow and seeing their wee personalities form, and can’t wait to see them grow in their new homes! Here are the final pictures from the last few days where the remaining pups had lots of play time together and got to explore the whole garden!

🌟 PUP DATE 🌟

Today 8 have become 5 as Angus, Copper, and Mike have left for their fur-ever homes! Whilst it’s hard to say goodbye they are all going to the best pawrents! The last couple of days the pups have experienced a paddling pool (and burst it!), bubbles, and spent a lot of time playing and cuddling!
