Proud of you Maxy boy 5 years of visiting the Children at Royal Derby Hospital every Friday - bringing the smiles.
People always ask me how and why I started this and I realise I have never told the story ….. when I was a patient at the Children’s Hospital I had been in a long time and was really struggling - one afternoon in visiting a gentleman walked in with a black Labrador and I burst into tears - the man was blind and thought I was scared of the dog so my Mum explained that it was tears of joy to see a dog - so he instructed the dog to come and sit with me while he visited his relative - I have NEVER forgotten the impact that made on me in that moment in that hospital bed.
When I found out that Pets As Therapy existed as a charity I knew Max would be the man for the job and the rest as they say is history!

This is Piglet the Whippet, newest member of the K4D family. Piglet has incredible show line breeding but came out with “wonky” ears so isn’t suitable for the ring.

We haven’t told her as she thinks she is perfect - as do we!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 🥂

What does it mean to me? Having spent my most of my working life in very male dominated jobs I have always maintained one thing - work with the lads but don’t try and be the lads. Do the job as a women and just kick bloody arse at it! The below paragraph explains it perfectly….

The Lioness does not try to be the Lion. She embraces her role as the Lioness. She is powerful, strong, nurturing, kind, compassionate, humble, faithful, persevering, confident, fierce, bold, pure, alert, aware, awake and tender-hearted. She does not mistake her meekness for weakness. Our generation is too busy trying to prove that women can do everything men can do, women are losing the unique qualities that set us apart. Women weren’t created to do everything a man can do. Women were created to do everything a man can’t do. When we can learn to tap into, and harness our Divine Femininity, we realise that we don’t have to ‘fight’ our way to the top. We learn that we can move mountains with the gentlest of touch. Be the Lioness, not the Lion.

The Dog Photographer - photographed my best boy Max and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results - the only problem is choosing 10 to go on here.
A huge thank you to Andy who was so incredible with Max, he was directive and creative but also let me ad lib with pictures I had thought of, I couldn’t believe when we went through at the end how many shots I absolutely loved. He has captured Max perfectly and I see “my dog” in all of the pictures.

If you want someone to photograph your dog look no further - I have found the guy - - will post another photo dump soon of some of the pictures of Max and I together.
