This is Piglet the Whippet, newest member of the K4D family. Piglet has incredible show line breeding but came out with “wonky” ears so isn’t suitable for the ring.
We haven’t told her as she thinks she is perfect - as do we!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY 🥂
What does it mean to me? Having spent my most of my working life in very male dominated jobs I have always maintained one thing - work with the lads but don’t try and be the lads. Do the job as a women and just kick bloody arse at it! The below paragraph explains it perfectly….
The Lioness does not try to be the Lion. She embraces her role as the Lioness. She is powerful, strong, nurturing, kind, compassionate, humble, faithful, persevering, confident, fierce, bold, pure, alert, aware, awake and tender-hearted. She does not mistake her meekness for weakness. Our generation is too busy trying to prove that women can do everything men can do, women are losing the unique qualities that set us apart. Women weren’t created to do everything a man can do. Women were created to do everything a man can’t do. When we can learn to tap into, and harness our Divine Femininity, we realise that we don’t have to ‘fight’ our way to the top. We learn that we can move mountains with the gentlest of touch. Be the Lioness, not the Lion.

The Dog Photographer - photographed my best boy Max and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results - the only problem is choosing 10 to go on here.
A huge thank you to Andy who was so incredible with Max, he was directive and creative but also let me ad lib with pictures I had thought of, I couldn’t believe when we went through at the end how many shots I absolutely loved. He has captured Max perfectly and I see “my dog” in all of the pictures.
If you want someone to photograph your dog look no further - I have found the guy - - will post another photo dump soon of some of the pictures of Max and I together.

****** Control around food ******. . Do you have control around food? In my opinion the food is mine and I’m allowing the dog to have it. . Puppies mostly eat from my hand through training but when they do have a bowl I always make sure I can remove it if I want to. I’m not saying I bother the dog (or allow children to bother the dog) when eating as with high drive dogs there will be in most cases a level of drive around the food as we make them work to “earn” it but it is important that (within reason) you can remove food if needed. . Max shows here that he will only take what is given to him - he will listen to my “leave” command and does not want to “steal” food from the peacock. ******* Control ******* . For me it is important to develop the dog using food drive and prey drive - also nurturing and developing his creativity. I want to see the dog try, I want to see the dog be keen. The control (impulse control) you see in this video was taught long after the positions - it is really easy to close a dog down by this i mean create the control and boundaries you see in this video - what it isn’t easy to do is build drive in a dog that doesn’t genetically have it OR that’s been closed down too hard and too soon in its development. . Dogs remember they don’t reason - this is Vala and I taught her to do this approx 10 months ago - she can if taught properly remember the training given and therefore remember how to perform this task - even with a big (for a dog) time lapse. What she cannot do however is apply reason, examples of this would be: 1) there is a car coming I can’t cross at the same time. 2) it’s been raining the metal might be more slippery than usual. . Dogs live their lives in a black or white fashion - there are no grey areas therefore in your training you must be very clear and teach correctly and precisely - when you do dogs can remember an incredible amount of information for the rest of their lives - yes we need continuation training to keep these skills sharp (like humans) but dogs don’t forget training if it’s been applied correctly in the first place. . 🐊 @louisthrudark . #kit4dogs #k4d #thrudark #dogsofinstagram #dogs #dogstraining #remember #blackandwhite
