I love looking after these two, and I've been doing so since the frenchie was the tiniest of pups, but why must they try to play the bitey-face game on top of me?? 😅

Nancy and her owner are superstars, went from not being able to sit at all to this, all in the span of about 15 minutes 💖

Can't believe how busy I've been lately, and yet I've forgotten to upload any of the pictures and videos from my wonderful training and dog sitting clients! I'll do my best to share what we've been doing and what we'll be up to in the future - we do have a new training class starting in March and, while we're booking up quickly, we do still have availability for dog sitting (both short and extended stays). For now, here's a video showing last week's beginner class practising walking nicely on lead...

I cannot describe how giddy receiving this video made me; when we started our 121 sessions, Dave struggled with reactivity toward dogs and humans alike. This video is night and day compared to our first session, and I am so proud of Dave and his lovely guardians! This kind of change isn't easy, to teach our pup that the world isn't actually such a scary place, but his mum and dad have worked so hard. While I haven't posted much about 121 services recently because I have been so busy dog sitting, my books are now open once again. Whether you want to work on improving lead walking, recall or other skills, if your pup struggles with separation anxiety, 121s are a great option. X

I cannot describe how much joy this little video brings me! He's come such a long way from being so vocal and anxious on our first 121, to being able to happily play while I puppysit. While he's still got a way to go with his anxiety out of the house, him and his parents really are doing so so well 🥰

By the end of this portion of the class, our littlest member Heidi was really finding her confidence and it was wonderful to see ☺️

Heidi especially has come such a long way over the last few weeks and, while she's made progress each weeks, this was the first time seeing her playing so confidently and it really was lovely to see. Mabel on the other hand is a lovely bouncy girl who has been learning not to just barrel over and potential new friends, and she's been doing well learning to play with better manners 😊

A clip from Wednesday's puppy class, we used some fun methods to boost our pup's confidence while also teaching them new things. While it seems like we're just having fun (and we are), things like this can also have benefits. For example, lots of pups can sort of 'forget' about their back legs and the jump and hoops can help with this, while the weave poles can encourage them to keep a supple spine. But the main goal here was to encourage our pups to be brave and try new things while having fun doing it! 😁

Oh my, the post-walk zoomies hit different after getting caught in the rain! 😆 I'll never get bored of puppysitting this crazy girl ☺️

Working on 'middle' last Wednesday was great, and everyone did so well! Middle is a fun behaviour to teach our pups, not only is it a cool party trick but can be useful as it's often where our pups feel safest - so good when they may be a little nervous

The absolutely stunning Elvis gets very excited, so walking calmly is a big deal for him, but he already improved so much in this session The treat being used is baby-food - dog safe ingredients, high value and easy to give (usually) 😁 The thicker ones definitely work best, I once accidentally bought the yoghurt type and proceeded to pour it on my late pup's head. They're also fab in kongs and on licki-mats! 🐶

Biscuit got a little bit distracted when she saw the camera, but she remembered the 'game' she was playing with her mum quickly enough and went right back to walking beautifully. It's not about having a dog who never gets distracted or wants to sniff, but knowing how to deal with different distractions and who you can enjoy walks with 🐶

Biscuit at last week's beginner class practising 'look at that' This is a fab behaviour which sets up something your pup finds exciting (like other dogs) to eventually act as a signal to look at you, and you can then gradually you decrease the gap between the exciting thing 🐶

Touch is actually one of the most versatile behaviours and, once they know it, it can be used for dogs weary of hands, who don't love being physically handled, as part of recall, as an alternative behaviour to jumping up and in teaching a huge range of other behaviours and tricks!

Little Bertie cracked the 'down' and release cue this Monday, he's a clever little sausage isn't he!

And our third star of the session, this week they all did fantastically on a behaviour that is both pretty complex, and is one of my personal favourites ☺️
