Really useful post explaining that dogs nails need to be kept short to avoid pain and posture problems 🐾

What's the big deal ❓What have they got to do with my dogs reactivity ❓
Pain 💥
If you can hear "click clack" on a hard surface, your dogs nails cannot go into the surface, so that pressure and force can go back up right into their feet.
The toes can splay because they cannot do anything else BUT become misaligned if their nails/claws are too long.
That affects the foot, that affects the joints and that can affect a dogs behaviour.
Pain affects behaviour and yes....pain can cause reactivity.
Is it just a coincidence that when your dog leaves the soft carpet or lawn of your house and goes outside on the footpath their behaviour changes?
For some dogs, taking this simple step can make a huge difference to their reactive outbursts.
Cutting or grinding the nails can make a big difference.
If you can hear "click clack"...it really is time for the "clip clip".

Some great information about how your dog self soothes and the possible underlying reasons ❤️🐾

This really needs investigating and a veterinary check up is needed...and yes I am going to get stuck into all the "remedies" people offer on social media.....many will not help and will only prolong the issue and suffering.
Is it behavioural? Anxiety? Situational stress? Separation issues?
Is it fungal?
Is it bacterial?
Is it allergies? Environmental ? Seasonal ? A contact allergy? A food allergy or a drug interaction?
Is it skeletal? Muscular?
What worked for your dog does not mean your remedy will work for a dog whose photo you have seen on social media.
It can prolong that dogs pain and discomfort.
I know you are well meaning, but as you can see the causes are very varied.

These two cuties had some yummy treats for being sooo good yesterday before going home.
Cooperative care, 1:1 and positive reinforcement really helps dogs cope with grooming. ☺️🐾❤️
