We have a similar nervous system, our brains fire the same way. We are exposed to similar emotional responses and have the same need for safety. Yet dogs are so often still expected to shut up and put up. Let's be a little gentler with the needs of our dogs shall we? We can help with that, drop us a line in the comments.

⚠️ Flea season ⚠️
In the summer months when fleas are prone please keep treatments up and check your dog before you come to the salon as I operate a Zero flea tolerance policy to protect my home and pets.

Good prevention I follow is to spray my house and car once a month with Indorex spray, wash dog beds weekly and I bath my dogs once a month with natural flea shampoo (animology or bugalugs) as added protection & prevention - as well as giving their scheduled flea treatment.

Urgent Appeal for this Saturday!

We have arranged a super walk this Saturday 10th of August at the Waldridge Country Park and Daisy Hill Nature Reserve near Chester-le-Street, meeting 10 a.m. at Hylton Street Car Park (Start time 10.15 a.m.)

The route is 7.2 km and should take 2.5 hours allowing for a few rests and a leisurely pace. The views are really picturesque.

A buffet has been laid on by publican Joan at the nearby Butchers Arms pub afterwards.

So far we are already two thirds of the way to reaching our financial target of raising £3,000 for our Veterinary Fund which pays for urgent veterinary treatment and neutering of rescued cats.

However, take up for the walk has been very disappointing, we really would like to invite supporters to turn up and the day and enjoy the fantastic route tested and adapted by our own sherpas Hazel and Louise.

Please do come and join us this Saturday, any donations raised are a bonus but having people turn up and enjoy the event is the main thing! It really doesn't matter about getting any substantial sponsorship in, we are already going to achieve that as a team.

Please just turn up and enjoy the event and the buffet afterwards.

PLEASE check your dogs and remove grass seeds ASAP after walks. Yesterday my dog had 8 in her eyes and others in her toes.
We managed to get them out but they are very dangerous despite their small size.

🌈🐾 Honouring Our Beloved Pets on Pet Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today, we remember and celebrate our cherished pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge.
Here are my last 3 dogs who are at the rainbow bridge.

Whether they were with us for a short time or many years, the paw prints they've left on our hearts are there forever.

Elderly dogs often need adaptation when being groomed too, so 1:1 is a good option.
They are free to lie down or sit if they need a rest, and I work round them. Comfort and looking tidy is better than forcing them to stand in uncomfortable positions to create a "perfect" look. 🐾❤️
