In light of the upcoming ban on XL bully's I regret that I will be unable to accept any for walks.

Here is what my insurance has to say on the matter.

" It is a condition precedent to liability that for any dog which is a banned breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act
1991 and/or as subsequently amended within the United Kingdom and whilst in Your care, custody or control,
the following guidelines are strictly adhered to:
1. The dog is registered with The Index of Exempted Dogs (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is
obtained and provided to Us.
2. A copy of the Public Liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to Us.
3. The dog to handler ratio is 1:1 at all times.
4. All guidelines under The Index of Exempted Dogs are strictly adhered to and the dog must be:
i. Neutered.
ii. Tattooed.
iii. Micro chipped.
iv. Kept on a lead and muzzled at all times.
v. Kept in a secure place so it cannot escape."

The key point here is that whilst my insurer may grant permission to walk banned breeds which are registered as exempt, the requirement to walk them on a one to one basis would be disruptive to walks offered to existing clients. It must be noted that this one to one requirement would mean they would have to be walked separately to any other dog in the household, further adding to any disruption.

Please remember if making dog walking /pet care enquiries by phone to leave a voicemail message if you get no answer. This will allow me to know if the call is a genuine enquiry and not a telemarketing call as I'd rather not call back a random number in case it's the latter.

However, please remember the best method for getting in touch is in writing via Text message, Facebook messaging or Email.

**Shock collar ban in England**
Having spoken with an RSPCA official this morning there is a real risk that this legislation will not make it through the final legislative hurdle. MPs are being swamped by pro e-collar emails. please contact your MP (link for info here: https://www.rspca.org.uk/getinvolved/campaign/shockcollars)

Even more offensive is the latest claim that only e-collars can give deaf dogs off-lead freedom......We can't even begin to express my horror at such a statement.
Morag is helping the RSPCA with a response based on 15yrs of training deaf dogs but please - share the word and let's make the ban reality.

What stood out with this one over other Webmaster clones is the range of sizes it's offered in compared to most budget harness of this type,so if you want a harness that should be secure and supportive but can't afford a webmaster, this could be an option. I can't tell you anything about the quality, though.

Interesting animal welfare development in France. What is interesting is that this new law is very similar to my own policies.

Obviously this does not effect us in the UK but, its good to be aware if your taking your dog/s on holiday to france.

I hope one day the UK adopts a similar policy.
