Yep. 😹 I did vacuum first but the cats came to help.

Makes me smile.

Wrapping paper chosen by using the one they aren't sat on.

Ginger only used this Christmas tree cat bed for a couple of times.

Absolutely adored her. She was very soft, laid back and lazy.

This photo brings back many happy memories. Especially as she was with us for most of the children's lives.

It's Small Business Saturday!

Don't forget smaller, independent businesses when doing your Christmas shopping.

I've made a good start on my Christmas shopping as the festive period is busy for cat visits.

Here are just a few photos from my house sitting with Charlie.

As it was more wintery this time, Charlie was more cuddly and often came looking for a lap! This was so nice.

He also loved playing - hide and seek, chase as well as with usual cat toys.

Happy December!

Some companies close for a week over Christmas.

Don’t forget to make sure you have enough medicine / food for your pet.

Vets are often shut for bank holidays plus there may be delays with deliveries.

🌲🎄❄️ I've already visited houses with Christmas trees and decorations. 🌲🎄❄️

Please be aware that your pet may chew the wire, plastic, tree, decorations... everything it shouldn't eat!

Supervise your pets while they investigate the new items.

To be on the safe side, please put Christmas items away if you are going on holiday if you think there is a risk. ⚡ (Or close the door to prevent the cat going in the room.)

Most Christmas plants are poisonous as well. ⚠️

Please feel free to share your lovely videos of Christmas disasters. I have seen some lovely videos of kittens climbing up trees this morning. 😻

The problem to voice to text with my phone, is that it doesn't always understand me.

Particularly with names....
Dandelion becomes Dundee lion
Eivor becomes Evil
Ghibli becomes Deadly

It also happens to change purring to pairing. And puss to something I wouldn't ever say in a message.

I find that as I press send, the text changes too. 🙀

So apologies in advance if you get an odd message from me.

Did you know you can have a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium at the World Museum?

We had so much fun! I love watching the jelly fish but it was great to learn more about them.

The other photos are also from our day out but you can read more in my latest blog on my website wirralwhiskers.co.uk/articles/hello-autumn/

Both SK and myself were surprised that he ended up in this position. He was very happy rolling around on my lap for a cuddle.

This photo is quite a miracle. Due to him having a microchip, he was returned home after a couple of years missing.

Please keep your microchip details up to date!

Our new (unexpected) pets....

We didn't even see frogspawn but we now have about 6 tadpoles.

Bit of a surprise after a couple of years of having African pygmy frogs.

It has been amazing watching them develop. They are about 2cm long.

Yep they are hard to photograph unfortunately.

(These are my daughter's pets not mine.)

It's been a busy week for my cats with these two at the vets and also Fermi's photo being on a van in London.

Yep I spent Wednesday dropping off my two little ones for dental work. Then spent the whole day worrying about them. Fermi missed her little friend. I don't think she missed Bean at all. 😹 They seem to back to normal today thank goodness.

This is Daisy-Bear and Bean! 🐱❤️🐱
Did you know cats can get dental disease too?
These two were with us for a scale and polish and had teeth extracted with our surgeon Matt. Brushing teeth is not just important for us humans! If you can (without losing your fingers!), try brushing your cats' teeth with a small toothbrush or finger brush and pet toothpaste to get those pearly whites! 🦷🐈
If you would like some help, we would be happy to book a FREE nurse consultation to help you with brushing those pearly whites. ⭐ 🦷

He is always glad to have company. He is my happy little puppy running around being involved in everything.

I'm going to have a few days off!

Not doing anything except having a break after a crazy summer. Will probably end up having a 'spring clean' and tidy up.

Most importantly, will be spending some time with my cats and my Kindle. My idea of a treat!

Thank you to all the pet owners who have kept me busy this year. I really appreciate it.

Be careful driving as lots of wildlife and pets about at dawn/dusk.

It's quieter on the roads at the moment but I see lots of animals dash out.

Squirrels in particular have no road sense.

With just a week to go until World Animal Road Accident Awareness Day here are some suggestions for drivers to follow, which in turn gives all vulnerable road users the best chance of not being involved in an accident;
Vigilance is the first and best defence. It's easier to anticipate animals on the road and be ready to react calmly. Minimalize distractions from passengers, food, and accessories like phones. If full attention is on the road, you'll be more likely to spot approaching animals. Be aware of your surroundings, and always expect the unexpected. Always obey the speed limit and adapt speed to conditions. Increase alertness and reduce speed at night. People overdrive their headlights — meaning, they are driving too fast to stop in the distance covered by their headlights. Don't try to predict animal movement, slow down immediately if you spot an animal near the roadside. Do not panic. Being prepared and thinking ahead will reduce the chances of you or the animal you encounter being injured.Know and feel comfortable in your car. Be familiar with things such as your instrument panel so you know instantly what to press in emergency situations to alert other drivers. Your lights different settings so you can adjust them for better visibility. Being comfortable with your cars ability with steering, breaking and manoeuvring, along with with your car controls, means you can react faster and less panicked. Slow down as much as possible as soon as you see the animal. Quickly check your rear view mirror to see if another vehicle is driving behind you. If there is a close approaching vehicle, flash your hazard lights to warn of a sudden slowing/break. Flashing your hazard lights alerts cars behind that you are coming to an unexpected slowing/breaking, and will alert them instantly to danger/caution. If you thought you saw movement in your peripheral vision, you probably did. Same with eye shine when driving at night. Get in the habit of scanning the roadside as you drive. Check for oncoming vehicles and, if possible, drive more central away from parked cars.

When a holiday guest looks very much like our little runt cat.

I love the way Monty shocked members of our family as they just assumed the grey pet in the corner was Daisy-Bear until he moved.

Although he sat on me more than the cat.

I love it when a shy cat comes out to play straight away. ❤️

Only had a couple of visits with Smokey but we loved every minute.

Animals Mean Everything to Me.

Cat Sitting - Dog Walking - Small Animal Boarding - Pet Hygiene Visits - Pet Companionship Visits

I’m Livi and it has been my life goal to set up a pet care business. Predominantly I focus on cat and small pet sitting. Alternatively, if the small animal cage is transportable, I can look after the pets at my house.

Wirral Whiskers has now been running 6 months and I am so pleased to say that all my customers have been very happy with the service I have provided. Pet owners receive regular updates, photos and videos of their pets while they are away which gives them peace of mind and they can see how much fun and interaction they are having.

I’ve had various animal care experience including cat fostering, veterinary receptionist and pet sitting. Qualification wise I have a BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and an HND in Welfare of Animals (Management).
