After living with motor neurone disease for 8 years, on Thursday 19th May 2022, Lisa Millela passed away and we lost one of the very best. Not just the best in the world of veterinary dentistry but just one of life's heroes. She was a truly inspirational, warm, kind, passionate, charismatic woman who was our friend. She worked tirelessly to better veterinary dentistry. She was a former president of the BVDA and EVDC specialist. As well as looking after her patients in the UK, Lisa did so much charitable work around the globe with International Animal Rescue; work she continued well into her illness. She was hugely respected and her depth of knowledge of veterinary dentistry always felt second to none. We will miss her terribly, remember her fondly and always feel glad that we knew her.

SAVE THE DATES! 21st - 22nd July 2022

This year the BVDA are pleased to announce a return to 'in the flesh' events. At IM3's ACE facility Dublin, we will be running a hybrid event with 2 days of lectures and a wet lab that can be attended by 32 delegates. Those who can not make will be able to dial in and enjoy the event as webinar. We will be joined in person by the excellent José C. Almansa Ruiz DVM (Hons) MSc (Vet) Dipl. EVDC MRCVS and in recognition of what has worked well under forced COVID restrictions at recent webinar events, we'll also be joined by other speakers from around the world virtually.

It's a Thursday/Friday meet so those that can and have the inclination can enjoy a long weekend in Dublin with travel expenses on the CPD budget!

There will be a social on the Thursday night.

More details to follow re: content and speakers.
Photo to grab attention. It does not reflect course content!

On behalf of the BVDA, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope everyone enjoys some time to relax and celebrate and recharge ahead of 2022. Thank you to all on facebook who contribute with case discussions. Thank you to all who have attended our 'Talking Teeth' series and to those who joined us for our scientific day in October. Thank you to our sponsors that make these things possible. Thank you to those that have become new members this last year. Thank you especially to the BVDA board and greater committee who volunteer time when we're all feeling the pinch. It is your engagement and interest in vet. dentistry which makes the BVDA feel like a very worthwhile association to head up.

Yours
Tom
