This is Zeus, he is one of the many dogs not supported by a rescue. Zeus come to us a total mess, incredibly reactive to everything, he was a very real danger to people, not his fault, a victim of unsupportive and brutal dog trainers, everything and everyone was a threat to him. As you can see our rehabilitation has had a very positive effect, he has still a long way to go but his promised funding stopped months ago and it seems to have come down to us and our wonderful fund raisers to keep supporting his kennel space, the only other option him being euthanised, yes that is the option now with rescue kennels, it's got that bad. Zeus and some of the unsupported dogs with us don't deserve that, they deserve the chance to be their best selves. If you want to support Zeus and others with us please send however little to [email protected] our PayPal account, friends and family option or Ian Roberts TSB 77-26-17 25723760 Thanks very much
A little Dexter update for you all !
Rescued from the pound where he was moments before being PTS and now look at his amazing life!
Dexter is loved and cherished by his mum & dad and we couldn’t ask for more.
Even when he’s making toys and sofas explode 🫣
This is what we work so hard to do, give these dogs a chance that no one else will,
Without our supporters this would all not be possible.
Thank you from the team, and Dexter 🐾
Daisy doo with Yasmin having cuddles and kisses and snakie treats of course
How can there be no one out there for these sweet girl.
Daisy needs a pet free and child free home 🏡
She walks beautifully on the lead and loves to play and have the zoomies with her human friends 🥰
Can you be daisy’s lifeline? This poor girl has spent most of her short life in kennels rather than in a home.
To apply for Daisy please contact EuroPaws Rescue
Meets are essential at our sanctuary in preesall
Morning, Marley here and I believe you may have seen my face before! I’m one of the fabulous 12 that the kennel manager keeps raving about, and I’m here in hope you might help me find a mum or dad?
When I first came to the sanctuary..over a year ago now, I was so cold.. so hungry. I don’t think I could remember when my last piece of food was. I felt so weak, like every step pained me to take, but the gentle voices that were surrounding me made me feel safer than I had felt in so long. They were kind voices, you know the type? The ones who help you, when I felt all was lost long before. They gave me food, it tasted so so good, and a warm bed to sleep in, and a jumper.. which eased my aching body, and a little light above me through the night glowed and it felt warm like I’d never felt in so long. The days passed and I began to feel stronger, I remember my first time getting to roll in the grass… oh it felt amazing on my skin, the staff took me on adventures when I got stronger, I visited the beach even! The staff love me like their own and I love my little family dearly, but they say I need my own special family now.
I need a mum or dad who will visit me lots, because I can’t trust straight away, the staff here are all I’ve had in forever and it’s hard for me to lean on someone else straight away, I hope you understand. I will love you in time, it’s just a little hard for me at the beginning, but if you stick around for me, I promise I will be your best friend.
I need a home with no other animals please, and no children because I’ve never been around them and they scare me.
I’m so glad you came along to read my story, please share me and help me find a place to call my own?
Marley-moo 💗🙏
Below is a video of my first walk at Sakima’s.
Beanie bear has been with us a couple of weeks now. When she arrived she was completely shut down, stayed in her bed and had the saddest of eyes. She felt so abandoned and alone.
Now look at her, giving kisses and playing and running with happiness. Beanie had become a firm favourite with the staff and she is more than ready for a home.
Beanie gets along with majority of dogs and absolutely adores all humans.
Beanie is under Broken Paws Second Chances
Please apply through them or send us a message and we will arrange contact and meets.
Thank you ☺️
We would like to share this short and sweet video of Miss Daisy 🌼 with you all,
Now Daisy has her first ever meet on Sunday and honestly, after her first uncertainties had passed and we focussed on our walk and some yummy treats Daisy was more than settled to accept some strokes and become friends with new people. (Sadly this home wouldn’t work out for Daisy but it gave us hope and joy ultimately for Daisy’s future)
This shows Daisy’s astounding progress here at Sakima’s. Daisy came to us from a “rehab” centre where her rescue struggled to get updates, not allowed to visit, and was told Daisy was aggressive and practically uncontrollable according also to the essay sheet that was sent to us about her and Mya. When Daisy arrived yes she was reactive to humans and all dogs, she couldn’t pass anyone in the street because at this rehab centre they never walked their dogs in the open, with day to day life goings on. They just kept them stored away in kennels and paddocks. So of course Daisy was anxious and defensive to new things.
Now Daisy walks beautifully on the lead, and is always focussed on where her humans are. If a human or a dog are passing she will listen and sit and focus on you, she has learnt she is safe with us and she doesn’t need to defend herself because we have her back.
She plays and runs and has the zoomies with us. She gives the best cuddles 🥰
Daisy is ready for a home but we ask for no children as Daisy finds them scary and really struggles with her anxiety around them.
No other pets as she wants to be an only dog and receive all the love and care she has missed out in for the past 3 years 😢
She has spent more time in kennels than in a home in her short life, which is heartbreaking in itself.
Daisy will never be a what we like to call in the rescue world “a bomb proof dog”, but she will be someone’s perfect world out there, we just have to find them, and we know you will help us 🙏
Thank you as always
OEH tea
Showing off Odins football skills in hope that a new team will take him on and become his new family.
Odin is looking for sloppy kisses, cuddles, head and butt scratches and yummy food and treats.
No cats or small furries please
But other dogs and older children or children who have experience with bigger and bouncy dogs are absolutely considered.
Odin had minutes to be saved from the lethal injection at the pound. He came to us emaciated and sore and broken hearted.
Now he’s healthy and happy and when we have visitors he is the first to parade around his kennel and strut his stuff wiggling his bottom about like no tomorrow 😂
We have had ZERO applications for Odin, and it just doesn’t make sense to us. A dog friendly, sweet, loving baby like Odin should be in a house with a sofa and warmth, he certainly doesn’t need a rehab kennel.
Please share and help us find Odin his team, who will love and support him for the rest of his life 💕thank you 🐾
And we welcome Puki-bear into Sakima’s sanctuary. This boy is an absolute gem and very sweet. Always happy to see the staff and walks lovely out and about. We are looking forward to building bonds and learning more about this boy in the days to come 🐾 we’re happy to have you little man
Koby came to us a drooling, absent, shell of a dog who didn’t know what affection was, couldn’t function due to the many medications he was on.. for apparently being a “Tasmanian devil”.
Well this is the dog we now have, off drugs, loving life, loving humans. The absolute joy in his face makes us fill with pride.
Koby is a perfect reason why we do what we do at Sakima’s sanctuary and why we will always continue to fight for any and every single dog.
Koby is under Broken Paws Second Chances and is available to be adopted. Please contact them if you would love for this boy to come light up your life 💗🐾 thank you.
Odin arrived this afternoon, he is under our rescue so he is an OEH Foundation dog. They certainly don't overfeed them in the pound, like Casper when he arrived painfully thin maybe don't want to waste good food if they are going to have to euthanise them in a week or so
Anyway, he looks that he is going to be a sweet affectionate boy a Presa mastiff mix we reckon not showing any reactivity to other dogs and good with people. Hopefully it won't take long to find this gorgeous boy a loving home
Little preview of our boy Odin (ignore the collar) who will be arriving to us at Sakimas Sanctuary very soon!!
Odin loves people and to play all day, and enjoys having a play mate too!
Odin was saved in the nick of time from being PTS in the pound. Let’s give this boy a big welcome and find him a forever home 🐾
Anyone recognise this little man?
Bet you can’t believe it’s Casper!
From skin & bone, petrified to this happy, loving life chap.
Thank you so much to everyone involved. From TAG who offered RBU, Suzanne the pound puller, Alison for organising everything and Caspers new mum.
Also thank you to everyone who supports us here at Sakima’s sanctuary. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to offer the rehabilitation service that was required to build up Caspers confidence, the money to afford to be able to specifically cook for Casper to make sure his body could gradually build up again. All the toys and enrichment he has had over the past couple of months where he learnt to play with the staff and socialise with other dogs. Below is a link to our current go fund me which all donations go towards helping more dogs like Casper 🐾
Thank you
