Dog walking, cat visits and, although I don't do so much of the larger animal care now, it was lovely to help out with a horse and some sheep that I used to look after regularly. Their new herd addition is a very cute Herdwick.
My poor little Orla has been recovering from tail surgery after she broke a bone two weeks ago. Not sure how it happened as she's such an active dog and it could have been chasing a ball, diving under a hedge... who knows! Sadly it isn't unusual for spaniels to injure their tails. She's now sporting a very small tail but has her wiggle back.
It's been a very stressful time for her and her humans as the cone of shame has had to be worn permanently and we're hoping the vet says it can come off by Tuesday. If you've ever lived with a working cocker spaniel wearing a tough buster cone you'll understand 🤣. I don't know if my shins will ever recover. Those cones hurt! And she's been spinning around at 100mph trying to get at her tail and lost all spatial awareness in the process.
Fingers crossed she can join the other dogs for walks soon and start getting back to normal.
