Running a little late, but July deserves its recap, even the messy bits, because life has been a lot.

🌧️ Rainy days and sunshine (there’s a song there)
💃 An Abba concert that made us feel invincible!
🚗 A driving test passed (woohoo!).
❤️ Family time
But also…
💔 Emergencies. Health problems.
😭 Tears, pain, hard days and uncertainty
Trying to figure it out, when it all gets messy.

I debated posting this tearful photo of me mid-meltdown, but honestly? This is part of it too. Life isn’t always polished or pretty or even full of cute dog photos. Sometimes we’re just doing our best to keep going, to find light in the chaos.

Here’s to anyone else feeling the highs and lows all at once. We hear you! X

Just a little update as we head into a new week

Firstly, thank you again to everyone who’s been so understanding since my last post. Your flexibility and support has made a huge difference during what’s been a bit of a whirlwind behind the scenes.

Sarah’s husband is now home and recovering well after surgery ❤️‍🩹,which is a huge relief, sending him lots of healing vibes. He still has a long road ahead and more surgery to come, but for now can rest up. While Sarah is still rightly focused on family, many of you have kindly taken on walks yourselves, and that’s helped ease the diary and keep everything running smoothly.

As for me, I’m still in recovery mode with my back, and it’s becoming clearer that this may take a little longer than I first hoped. So I’m now looking at alternative ways to navigate things, keeping care consistent for your dogs, but in a way that protects my own health long term too.

Thanks again for sticking with me, I’ll keep you all updated as plans take shape, and I’ll be in touch with each of you directly if any changes are needed.

Sarah x

Hi everyone, I’ve got a bit of a tough update

Due to a combination of my own ongoing back injury and a family emergency involving my amazing colleague, next week’s dog walks will be limited or adjusted at short notice. Some days may be paused altogether while we navigate this.

We’re doing everything we can to keep things going, but I really appreciate your patience and kindness while we handle this unexpected challenge 💛

If you’re a client with flexibility, or someone at home who can help your dog get their walk, please let me know, it makes a huge difference while we prioritise those without support.
Thanks so much for sticking with me, I’ll be in touch with everyone individually over the weekend to confirm plans.

We love doing these monthly roundups and sharing our favourite moments.
June brought the heat, and although I love it and Sarah D hates it, the challenge to keep the dogs cool has (and still is) been a juggle!
Big thanks to shady spots, frozen treats, and our lovely clients who kept us (and the dogs) cool, calm, and only mildly sweaty.
Here’s a look back at the sunshine, the silliness, and a few snaps from our personal albums, because apparently you like seeing our behind the scene’s photos 📸🍦🐶

🥵 This was the temperature on our patio slabs yesterday. I burnt my feet hanging out the washing!
🥵 Today is set to be the hottest day so far this year, please be careful and keep your pets safe.
🥵 Just seen a man running with his 2 dogs on tarmac at 07.30 am with a temperature of 21 degrees. It’s already almost too warm outside.
Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine but keep your pets cool.
Have a great weekend x

Police Issue Warning After Snakes Found In Woodland

Humberside police Rural Task Force are investigating offences under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. In relation to reports of Non - native species of Snakes being abandoned in the Twigmoor and Cleatham Areas on 11th June 2025.

So far 4 snakes have been captured by colleagues who work with exotic animals. They are believed to be Reticulated Pythons. Police suspect that 1 snake may currently still be out in the wild.

The reticulated Python is the longest species on earth. It is a non venomous constrictor snake, in the wild they will kill their prey by biting it and then coiling around it to literally squeeze the life out of it.

In the pet trade, these come in many colours. An 18ft Snake found at Manton is a wild type, but the other three are a mixture of two Albinos and what is thought to be a Pied Golden Child Morph.

In the event that you find one in the wild in the UK, please call police immediately. DO NOT try to catch it yourself, keep an eye on it and give a What3Words location to the police so it can be assessed by an expert and collected appropriately.

Police are advising keeping dogs on a lead in the areas where these snakes were found.

These Snakes will not attack you. They will only try to defend themselves if they feel threated. Officers suspect that the snakes that have been dumped were pets and this will make them less likely to bite.

PLEASE if you have a pet that you can no longer keep for whatever reason, please take it to an exotic animal shop or animal rescue. DO NOT release them into the wild.

If you have any information on the release of these snakes please contact Humberside Police Rural Task Force [email protected] or call 101 quoting investigation reference 25000081788

🐶Last weekend we met Aimee and her gorgeous border terrier, Bertie, for a Canicross taster session.

🐶Bertie is a ‘super sniffer’ and Aimee was bothered he wouldn’t focus on what we were trying to do. Obviously the photo tells another story and Bertie loved learning something new.

🐶We chatted (a lot 😂) about Canicross, building up to running, incorporating commands, harnesses, waistbelts and lines. Encouraging Bertie to run will take time and practice. Keeping it simple with clear commands and quick sessions to keep him focused are all key.

🐶Aimee walks a fair few miles with him, so he’s certainly got stamina! Whilst we didn’t have a harness to fit him on the day, his current one was a safe alternative for the session. It’s super important to ensure the dog is comfortable and the harness doesn’t restrict the dogs airway, muscles, joints or press on any area beyond the ribs onto the stomach. Getting the right harness can be tricky for some dogs depending on body shape, and often their running ability means we suggest different styles i.e., strong pulling versus light puller. Way more than just running with your dog!

🐶 Always happy to arrange a taster session or a harness check, just get in touch.
