We love our jobs! How can you resist this face? We enjoy getting to know each dog’s personalities and quirks, working out their favourite bits and the areas they struggle with. Understanding dog behaviour is a huge part of a dog groomers job.

Tongue out Tuesday! Some dogs need deshedding, this is where the dead undercoat is removed. On large, double coated dogs this is a big job. We bath then blast the coat to help loosen the hair then there is lots of brushing!

Puppy’s first groom. We cannot tell you how important this time is. The earlier a puppy is introduced to being groomed, the better. It is part of their socialisation and should be a positive experience. We take our time, letting the puppy rest when needed as it’s obviously quite tiring for them. We give them a bubble bath, dry them, give them a little trim, usually around the hygiene area, clip nails and clean ears. For more information please contact us by phone or email.

Happy Caturday Saturday! This gorgeous British Blue had a deshedding, as you can see we managed to make a whole new cat with the hair we removed. Is it any wonder we walk around with cat hair on our clothes and our furniture at home?

Scroll to see before photos. This little one had been owned by an elderly gentleman who had since past away. The dog was badly matted but as you can see, underneath was a cute little dog trying to get out. Looking 10 years younger and if dogs could smile, he was definitely smiling. He will be back to keep him looking young and Matt free.

We love seeing so many different breeds and working with so many different characters… each dog has its own needs and personalities. We spend time caring for them and keeping them as relaxed and calm as possible during their grooming spa’s.

Tongue out Tuesday! When we are grooming we sometimes use a belly strap. This is a padded strap which slides under the dogs tummy near the back legs. It helps to support the dog and can help to keep them from moving too much. When dogs are very young, elderly or have injuries we use the belly strap to help support them, we then take it off in between so they can then sit and rest.

Feedback Friday! We get so much lovely feedback from our clients it’s always difficult to know which one to share on a Friday. We choose the ‘purring cat’ because we have shared some videos recently of the chilled out cats having their spa treatments. 😻

We have the luxury of working one on one with each dog. It’s important to us that each dog has our undivided attention throughout the grooming session. There are some dogs who need a little rest, whether they are old, young, have health issues or just need some down time, we are happy to accommodate.

We groom at lot of cockapoo’s, cavapoo’s and labradoodles. They each have different coats, sometimes they are more wiry or straighter and less ‘poodle’ and some are very tight curls. Because they don’t moult as much as some other breeds they need a haircut much more regularly. If the coat is brushed daily at home, then the coat can be kept longer if the owner prefers. These two are always well looked after at home and brushed regularly.

Happy Caturday! This little one had solid matts on both side of its hips. They were very tight to the skin, so it took some time to remove them. Now one happy, pain free kitty. 💕
