I’m going to sit patiently and assume whoever did this in the last hour is on their way back to pay for the damage. I’m a small business… I work hard to maintain my equipment to the highest standard and this includes, most importantly, my van. It’s still right where you did it and left the scene, so please don’t be concerned you won’t find me. You managed to avoid the phone number so please feel free to call when you arrive. I’m in all evening.

This is absolutely devastating .. but something we can learn from. I never knew this fact either and although I don’t have any snow-globes at home (though I do really like them!) I will be sure to consider anything similar in future. Always keep decorations up out of reach from where they can be accidentally knocked, by us or a happy wagging tail 😔

Not a very nice subject, but we have been told that there is a sewage issue on our coasts. It would be strongly advisable to keep any sea-loving pups well away from the beaches for the time being 🌊

August always seems to be a fun, busy month full of events, hopefully lots we can involve our furbabies in 🐕

What are your top tricks and tips for keeping your pups cool in the hot weather?

Share them here and help others keep their babies cool this heat wave ☀️ 😎 🥵 🐶

Ideas might include-

* Cool mats
* Ice water/ice bottles in front of a fan to cool the air
* Chill hot water bottles in the fridge/ a short time in the freezer
* Heat repelling reflective sheets over doors/windows
* Keep curtains drawn
* Paddle pools (in the shade)
* Cool showers and leave them damp, particularly feet and behind the ears

If your dog gets very hot never cool them quickly, this can cause shock. If you are unsure, contact your vet practice for advice. Always ensure they have access to fresh, clean cool water 💧

Phew… 🥵☀️☀️☀️☀️🥵
It’s been a week of unusual schedules with all our walks heading out on early departures with drop ins to compensate throughout the day.

We have cancelled our walks for Monday and Tuesday with temperatures set to reach 32 degrees, high 20’s to set in even by early morning.
Please, please take extra extra care this weekend and particularly the beginning of next week with the temperatures set to rise such a huge amount, temperatures that even in the shade our dogs are just not acclimatised too in any shape or form. A dog does not have to be rushing around to suffer heat stroke which can quickly become fatal.

Please be aware as predicted by the met office the temperatures through the evening/night are likely to remain above and into the mid 20’s. Please take the time to consider before assuming it has become cool enough to take your pups out.
Please also remember that with our usually cooler climate our homes are designed to keep heat in, and can quickly become and remain exceedingly hot and stuffy.

We are the decision makers and our dogs do not have a voice to argue. Let’s keep them safe through this heat wave. Please take care.

Hot summer spells are one of the key reasons we offer our services to the Hailsham area only ☀️

By doing this we keep our collection & drop off times extremely low and we can often pick up (traffic depending!) within 10/15 minuets, keeping the travelling time for the pups to an absolute minimum at all times, but especially on warmer days 🥵 🐶 🌲
Our lovely aircon helps keep the internal temperature right down and our roof vent keeps the air fresh 👃

Well here we are. Tuesday June 21st 2022, the longest day of the year.
I expect there will be quite a few people doing late night walks with their furbabies to make the most of what is set to be another beautiful day ☀️

If you are enjoying walks anytime with your pups, don’t forget it is tick season! Its another year we are seeing a huge number of them. Keep your pets treatment up to date and only ever remove ticks with the correct removal tool or consult your vet nurse who should be happy to remove them for you 🥰

What a change in the weather from yesterday!
We hope everyone had a safe night during the storm. Despite hoping it would bring the temperature down a little It still remains deceptively hot and stuffy, so don’t forget to pack those water bottles if you are off to play in the puddles today 🐕 💦

Another Crufts comes to an end with the Flat Coat Retriever taking Best in Show 2022 🏆 🐕

Well that’s another wrap on another year! The last year has certainly been a trail, as a result our social media has been a little on the quiet side. Our focus has been keeping things running smoothly in HQ and ensuring all our Rise & Shine families varying needs have continued to be met over the ongoing tricky times. As always we are enormously grateful to all our wonderful Rise & Shine families and friends for their love and support over the last 365 days. We can’t wait to start our adventures again in 2022. We hope everyone has a fabulous Christmas shared with family, friends and furbabies. Merry Christmas everyone 🎄 ❤️ 🐶

Wow. Well that’s a wrap to a 2020 none of us expected. We are beyond grateful for all the support we have received throughout the year, there are truly no words we can offer to show just how grateful we are. If we can make it through 2020 we can make it through anything! After a little festive break and some time to spoil our own fur family, we will be back and ready to face what ever 2021 might have in store for us. Let’s keep our fingers and paws crossed it’s better things for everyone. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support.
