☠️Poison awareness☠️

Most common Pet Poisons for dogs: 🐶
• Onions, garlic, leeks, and chives
• Ethanol – alcohol found in a variety of products, such as alcoholic beverages, medication, perfume, mouthwash, some thermometers, and certain forms anti-freezer.
• Grapes and dried products – raisins, sultanas, and currants.
• Chocolate
• Xylitol – naturally occurring sweetener often found in sugar-free gum
• Avocados
• Tea and coffee
• Macadamia nuts

Most common pet poisons for cats: 😺
• Paracetamol
• Lillies
• Ethylene glycol – active ingredients in antifreeze
• Spot-on flea treatments for dogs
• Metaldehyde – found in slug and snail pellets or baits
• Decorating materials – paints, varnishes, preservatives, paint and glass cleaners.

If you suspect that your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t have contact your veterinary practice immediately for advice. It is important to note the time they have ingested it, how much and exactly what it is. This will help the vets to treat your pet accordingly. ☎️
