Meet Bella ❤️ she is a 13 week old Cavalier king Charles cross cocker spaniel. She arrived with us at the weekend and is settling in to her foster home. She will be off for a vet check this week before she is available for rehoming, that's if her foster carer lets her go 😁. *No adoption enquiries yet please*

We have lots of dogs waiting to come into our care ❤️ foster carers are a vital part of our team. If you have space in your home to care for a dog temporarily, until they are adopted, please register with us. Due to us being an extremely small team with limited resources, foster carers ideally need to be in or as local to Liverpool as possible

If you have already registered with us and are able to take in a dog asap, please INBOX us, do not comment here as they are often missed.

Joey's Legacy Rescue & Rehoming do not have a rescue centre. We are a foster based rescue, meaning our dogs stay in the homes of volunteer foster carers until they are adopted. Fostering an animal can help them recover from neglect, abuse, illness or injury. These are the first steps towards finding...

Dixie is looking for his forever home.
Dixie is an 8 year old shih Tzu who is looking for a chilled, adult only family without young children. He's been the easiest dog his foster carer has ever had!
He just keeps himself to himself and sleeps, comes for a cuddle of an evening and loves food and a squeaky toy. He ignores other dogs and doesn't really interact with them, so could live with another dog providing they don't want a playmate! He's a typical shih Tzu and will grumble at you if you try and make him do anything he doesn't want to do, hence the need for an adult only home.
He is not a morning dog and doesn't like being made to get out of bed to go for a wee 😂. He likes to go for a walk in the park in the afternoon. He is very scared of traffic though, so we don't think he's been walked in public much, so he prefers to be driven to the park (he is fine in the car) or carried down the street. He is quite barky with new people when he first meets them, but soon settles down.

Dixie arrived in very poor condition, he had an extremely matted coat and mange. He is still on treatment for his skin and may have ongoing allergies so any new owner must take this into account too.

Dixie is in Liverpool. If you can offer him a home, please read our rehoming procedures before completing an online application

Cinnamon is a 4 year old Olde Tyme bulldog who found herself in the stray pound just before christmas, despite her owners knowing she was there they never came to claim her. She is now ready to find her forever home.

Cinnamon is a very friendly and affectionate girl, she loves attention and is always ready to give a high five for a treat or toy! 🥰 She loves a bum scratch and a game of fetch or chilling out with a stuffed Kong.

When she first arrived she was extremely underweight and had very bad skin. She is now gaining weight nicely and is currently on medication (steroids) for her skin, we have put her on a hypoallergenic diet and would recommend she is kept on one too, she also has some lubricating eye drops too.

It is evident she has had multiple litters of puppies in the past, but she is also due to be spayed asap too.

Cinnamon has mixed well with everyone she has met, we are happy for her to be rehomed with children over 10, as we have no history on her with younger children.

She is quite strong on the lead but settles down once out and about. She is good in the house when left alone, but the odd toilet accident is to be expected when settling in. She can jump over stairs gates easily! She is crate trained but her foster mum has not needed to shut her in as she has not been destructive or anxious when left alone.

Cinnamon has not mixed with cats or small animals and we are still assessing her with other dogs too but she has been good with the ones she has seen up to now.

Cinnamon is in Liverpool, if you can offer her a forever home, please read our rehoming policies and procedures before applying to adopt

Little Dixie was admitted to the vets this morning where he had to be anaesthetised to have his matted coat removed, it was just too painful for him to be shaved whilst he was awake. His poor feet couldn't be seen under the impacted Matt's 💔

He has unfortunately got mange too so is on medicated baths and is on steroids to try and calm his skin down too.

His ears are horrific, so bad they couldn't actually clean them so they've put some treatment in which will hopefully start to work and he will be back to the vets again in a week for a check up. His a**l glands were completely compacted too.

Since arriving back at his foster home he is SO much happier already! He originally didn't want any attention or for anyone to touch him, but he's now strutting around, wagging his tail and seeking attention and affection from his foster mum 🥰

Thank you once again Noah's Ark Vet Centre for giving him the best care ❤️

Meet Dixie. He has arrived in our care today and has gone into a foster home. He is very much in need of some tlc and a full shave down, he is booked in at the vets for a vet check, but he has had a bath today as he had a lot of f***s stuck to his fur and some large matts pulling on his skin and was extremely smelly, but will probably need sedating to get the whole of his coat off as he isn't happy being groomed at the moment. He is feeling much more comfortable after his bath and the larger matts removing though ❤️

It is with great sadness we share the news of the passing of our beloved Shirl.
Mum to Terri, one of our dedicated team members at the rescue and a dedicated volunteer herself. "Our Shirl" was always eager to lend a hand, whether it was making snug covers to keep the dogs warm, or crafting handmade bandanas, she was our go to person for all things creative. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all of us and she will be so very much missed 💔

A celebration of Shirl’s life is scheduled for January 24th. Shirley's family have requested donations to Joey’s Legacy Rescue and Rehoming to honour her memory ❤️

Take care of all of our 4 legged friends up there Shirl! ❤️🌈

UPDATE: Stanley is now sorted with a long term foster home :)

We are in urgent need of a pet free foster home for Stanley the bulldog. He originally came to us back in 2019 and was adopted, but due to absolutely no fault of his own he is sadly needing to return to us 💔 we are just devastated for him as he is now almost 12 years old, which is very old for a bulldog 😥 so we are ideally looking for someone who can spoil him rotten for whatever time he has left, we will cover his vet bills due to his age too. He loves his food and loves a bum scratch ❤️ Stanley has lived with children but would prefer to be the only pet in the home as he is not keen on being around other dogs or other animals!. Stanley is in Liverpool. If you can offer him a long term foster home for life, please contact us
