🎁 Plants to avoid at Christmas 🎁
During the festivities, we often bring plants indoors or gift them to friends and family.
If there are pets at home, the following can be dangerous and are best avoided.

🎄 Ivy
🎄 Poinsettia
🎄 Christmas Cherry
🎄 Lilies
🎄 Pine needles

You may receive an email from Petchip.network advising that your pet’s microchip registration has expired and you need to pay for it to be updated – PLEASE IGNORE. THIS IS A SCAM. The email comes with a link taking you to a page showing your pet’s name, microchip number, your contact phone number and looks very convincing. PLEASE IGNORE.

There is a list of approved databases on gov.uk: Get your dog or cat microchipped - GOV.UK

Typically you would only pay a fee or first registering your pet or if you contact the company to update your details .

It is important to keep your pet’s microchip contact details up-to-date including if you move address or change phone number/ email address. Please contact your microchip provider direct to update your details.

ITS HERE! What you have all been waiting for.... the finale to a fabulous year!
With all small businesses, its the clients that make it what it is, and to thank you all for your support, assistance and attendance,
you are all invited to join DDS for a Christmas Pawty.
It's fun and festive but its also free!.
Bring your fur babies in their best fancy dress costume (I will warn you it does get quite competitive), join in some silly games, enjoy a hot d**k and mince pie and have your fur baby photographed with Santapaws.

🎄With Christmas fast approaching, don’t forget that some well loved traditions may be dangerous to our pets (especially those kitchen counter surfers!).
🎄In 2021, research by the Kennel Club highlighted that dogs are 75% more likely to be treated for poison ingestion in December than in any other month.
🎄Common Christmas dangers include:
• Chocolate
• Christmas pudding & mince pies
• Onions, garlic, leeks, shallots and chives
• Alcohol
• Macadamia nuts
• Sweets
• Anything containing the artificial sweetener xylitol, also listed as E967, birch sugar, wood sugar or birch bark extract
• Mould (particularly important for the cheeky bin raiders)
🎄 Please remember to keep the wrapped chocolates and sweet gifts from under the tree and safely out of the reach of inquisitive noses. Santa won’t mind if he doesn’t get a mince pie this year 🎅🏼.

💥‼️ WARNING for all dog owners & dog carers. Read on....
❄️ Winter is here and the roads are been gritted, if you walk your dog on gritted roads/paths please make sure that their paws are washed post your walks.

‼️ Every year hundreds of pets throughout the country become seriously ill and in some cases die because of the rock salt and antifreeze being used during the cold snap. Dogs and cats walk through the substances left by gritters trying to clear roads and car drivers defrosting their windscreens and then licking them off their paws.

‼️ Consuming rock salt can cause dehydration, liver failure and pancreatitis, while antifreeze contains the chemical ethylene glycol, which can be lethal when ingested.
