It’s been an utterly heartbreaking few days at the rescue. Sleepless nights, tears, and so much worry.
Meet Majestic, our newest momma bear. At 9 years old and heavily pregnant, she was cruelly dumped by her owner. She arrived with us scared, stressed, and ready to give birth. On Saturday, she went into labour. She delivered 6 puppies naturally, but heartbreakingly, 2 were born with their angel wings.
Majestic began to struggle, and we rushed her to the vet. There, she delivered 8 more puppies, tragically, only 2 survived. In total, 14 babies... and only 6 made it.
Majestic is now recovering, but she’s utterly exhausted. Of the 6 puppies, only 3 are feeding well. The remaining 3 are being tube-fed by our incredible friends at Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary. Thank you, Steph and Belinda, for stepping in.
We’re still holding our breath. The days ahead are critical. We pray mum and babies pull through, but we urgently need your help.
The emergency vet bill is large and unexpected, and we’re struggling. There’s no rainy day fund in rescue. We run day to day, crisis to crisis, doing everything we can to save lives. Right now, we need our community more than ever. If you can give anything at all, it would mean the world to us.
A heartfelt thank you to our vets, to Cathy who has stayed by Majestic’s side, and again to Rescue Me. Losing any life is devastating but losing 8 in one night is soul-crushing.
Please, stop breeding irresponsibly. This is the reality. So much suffering, so many resources drained. SPAY your pets. Educate your children. This doesn’t need to keep happening.
Majestic didn’t deserve this. Her babies didn’t deserve this. We can do better.
