If you’re planning a Christmas break, we still have some availability in our boarding cattery through December. With luxury modern pens, underfloor and overhead heating systems, and dedicated staff, we’ll make sure your furry friends enjoy their holidays too. Prices start at £14 per night for a single cat, or £24 for two cats sharing (though if your pets were adopted from us, they get a discount).

Please please PLEASE check and double-check ALL fences and gates in this extreme weather before you even think of letting your dog out. Dogs will be spooked by the wind and any dogs who do escape are at extra risk in conditions like this. It only takes a second!

Please secure your dogs on walks using two points of contact and hi-viz equipment to make yourselves easier for motorists to see, and don’t let dogs off lead as the wind can easily disorientate and confuse them, making them more likely to run away. Look after your furry friends!

Moss Cottage Retreat is a vision created by renowned registered charity Carla Lane Animals in Need. Having worked to save the lives of dogs and other animals for over 30 years, CLAIN knew that one of the worries faced by owners once they had adopted their perfect partner was the stress of finding people they could trust to take care of them when they had to go away. So many boarding horror stories mean that owners are reluctant to leave their precious dogs with anyone other than family or friends, but we know from experience that that’s not always possible or practical. With that in mind, Moss Cottage Retreat was designed to offer dogs and owners peace of mind and reassurance by reflecting the exceptional standards of care and compassion which are the cornerstone of the CLAIN philosophy. Our dedicated staff who have been trained within the CLAIN ethical framework are able to provide round-the-clock care for dogs in a stunning boarding facility where all profits are fed back into the rescue to help dogs who don’t yet have the luxury of a forever home with owners who love them.

We pride ourselves on making the dogs our number one priority, and our luxurious kennels set in a peaceful rural environment mean that we can offer dogs and owners an experience which takes some of the stress out of their separation.
