K9 Fun Club - Dog Training Alfreton & Jackdale Dog training classes in Alfreton Park (DE55 7AN) & Jacksdale Miners Welfare/ Dale Club (NG16 5HR). All dogs of any age, breeds, cross breeds, welcome.

K9FC is a fun dog training class run by myself, Judith Pownall, for the purpose of teaching pet dog owners how to train their dogs/puppies in basic obedience and practical/responsible dog ownership using reward based training methods. I would like to take this opportunity to make my position quite clear. I am not a Vet, Veterinary Nurse or Dog Behaviourist/Psycholo

gist. I will listen to any problems that you have with your dog but may well advise you to see either a Vet or Dog Behaviourist before you are able to continue with your classes. It is your responsibility to make sure that I am fully aware of any health or behaviour problems that you currently have with your dog. Even the most minor health or behaviour problems can affect your dog’s ability to learn and understand any new training. The information I give both verbally and written are practises that I have used because they work for me. This information is intended as a guideline to improve the relationship between dog and owner/handler. However each and every owner/handler and dog are individual and what works for one may not work for another. With this in mind it is the owner/handlers decision whether or not to follow the same practises. Only you know your own dog and you must do what you think is best for your dog.

Fizz was my beautiful fox red Labrador.
She loved gundog scurries and winning many prizes. She loved helping me picking up any thing I dropped pen pencils pegs coins ect she loved getting the post for me, she demonstrated obedience exercises on hand signals only helping other dog owners show our dogs work on our body language. She achieved the pet and working gundog organisation Foundation and Bronze award and passed the kennel club good citizen dog scheme Bronze Silver and Gold.
Fizz was the one who wouldn't leave my side when the pack got out of my van. She escorted me into the house and training venues.
Fizz spent the last few months enjoying our new training venue at the Dale Club Jacksdale, watching people and dogs coming and going. She slept peacefully there and enjoyed wandering about on the grass.
Fizz passed away peacefully, at the vets,eating gravy bones that her favourite vet got her hooked on.
Fizz will be sadly missed by everyone 😪
Rest peacefully, my beautiful red girl 💓 you really were a star 🌟

Yesterday Nev was enerted in the Scentwork UK trial level one. He smashed all his searches and got FIRST PLACE. This got him 12 points which gained him his excellence Rossett, he is now officially in level 2.
Roxi, having previously qualified in level one but not won out, has been competing in level 2. She achieved a 3rd place. Roxi will now drop down to level one until she has 20 points and her excellent Rossett.
We have had a really good weekend, I hope you have all enjoyed your dogs too 😊

Hi everyone, thankyou for attending this week despite the cold weather.
We have all enjoyed being nice and warm in the Dale Club who have looked after us making sure the heating was on, thankyou Ydelle and Tracy.
There is always something going on at the Dale Club, so check out their page. They are really friendly 😀.

January 8th and 9th 2025
All classes are on today and tomorrow. Although it's very cold there isn't any snow forecast, so fingers crossed.
It's quite dark on the car park after 4 pm, so it would be advisable to have a torch 🔦 with you.
If you aren't able to attend please let me know.

Classes start tomorrow
The snow ❄️ is almost gone and the roads are clear so fingers crossed 🤞 for good weather, the forecast is looking good 🤞
We will be indoors at the Dale Club/Jacksdale Miners Welfare, Main road, Jacksdale NG16 5HR. The car park is up the lane between the school with blue fencing and the Dale Club/ Jacksdale Miners Welfare, the room we are using is at the side of the car known as the Oates suit.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all and welcoming the new puppies.
I still have places available in puppy class on Tuesdays at 6.30pm.

All classes are now held in The Dale Club ( Jacksdale Miners Welfare)

I have places available for puppies upto 9 months on Tuesdays at 6.30pm (10am class is fully booked) beginners are on Tuesdays at 5.15pm.

A big congratulations to Sarah and Austin.
Lhasa Apso's are not the easiest breed to work with and train. Your patience perseverance and understanding your dog proves it can be done.
I look forward to working with your new puppy Morris, the next Lhasa Apso, to join k9funclub in January 2025.
