Does your dog enjoy going in the long grass?
Grass seeds might look small and harmless, but in the wrong place, they can cause a lot of problems. ⚠️ If your pet has been in long grass, always check them for grass seeds afterwards. Remove any that you find, especially in between the toes, around their armpits and near their eyes 🌾
It’s important to remove grass seeds quickly because their pointy shape enables them to pierce through the skin, enter the body and travel around, causing problems such as infections and abscesses. If you find one stuck or a wound/swelling that looks like it could contain one, book an appointment with your vet.

☀️As the weather is still in very high temperatures 🌡️ and will only be cooling down a little during the evenings.
If you are thinking of taking your dog out during the slightly cooler times please make sure you check the pavement and grass areas before you leave 🐕
☀️If you can not hold the back of your hand on the floor in direct sunlight or shaded areas for more than 5 seconds then it will be far to hot for your dogs paws 🐾
☀️If you do take them out please take water for yourself and your furry companion and have regular water breaks.

Did you know?
Dog paws are sensitive just like human feet. This means they are at risk of suffering serious burns if they walk on hot pavements 🙁
Unlike us, dogs can not wear lovely summer shoes!
So, here are our top tips for protecting your dog's paws.
🐾Walk your dog during the cooler times of the day, such as early morning and later in the evening when temperatures are lower.
🐾 Try your best to avoid walking on pavements and walk on the grass.
🐾 Walk in shaded areas, this will make your walk more enjoyable too, as it will help prevent you from getting too hot!
And remember the 7 second rule.
Place the back of your hand on the surface of the ground. If you can't keep it there comfortably for seven seconds, it's too hot to walk your dog.
Who else didn't want to get out of bed this morning 💤
