What's the difference between our fantastic team of Qualified and Registered Veterinary Nurses and a Cornish Pasty?
A Cornish Pasty is a legally protected title but Veterinary Nurse is not. Anyone can call themselves a Veterinary Nurse and to do so without any qualifications is currently not an offense.
Some local practices have no qualified nurses caring for your pets. We believe that the title should be protected and only those who have undergone the difficult training and qualifications should use the term Veterinary Nurse.
We are proud of our dedicated and caring team of qualified professionals who look after your pets at Bay Vet Group. Like/share to show your support to protecting the title Veterinary Nurse
Grace is our newly qualified Veterinary Nurse based mainly at our Paignton surgery. We are incredibly proud of her recent achievements and look forward to being part of her journey as an RVN.
Grace is super keen to undertake a Schedule 3 course in the future to further her knowledge and train to carry out specific minor surgeries. These surgeries may only be carried out by a qualified and registered professional👩🎓.
At home Grace spends her time with her Boxer dog, Barry 🐶 & Shih Tzu/Yorkie, Agnes 🐶 and of course her angry cat called Marley! 😺

We hope you are all enjoying the glorious sunshine ☀ But as the hot weather continues, we must remember to take extra care of our furry friends! 🐶
Most animals are not able to regulate their body temperature as easily as we can, which means it’s very easy for them to overheat. Heat stroke occurs when the body’s temperature increases to a point that is extremely dangerous and organ damage begins to occur. Heat stroke can be fatal and can happen not only in direct sun but also hot/humid rooms and poorly ventilated spaces 🚙
Top tips for keeping your pets cool 😎💦
🐾 Always ensure there is plenty of fresh cool drinking water 💦
🐾 Chose the early morning or late evening to exercise your dog 🐶 But please be sensible, it may be safer to skip a walk!
🐾 Provide plenty of shade (cloud) – Some animals may choose to lay on a cool floor within your house. Moving rugs and closing the curtains on the sunny side of your house can help to create a cool space for your pet.
🐾Grooming (But don't use scissors because you may cut their skin) – Most pets will start to shed their coat at this time of year. Regular grooming can help to keep to remove the old hair and keep them cool! Some dogs may appreciate a summer trim, whilst others have coats designed to naturally protect them from the sun.
In the event of an emergency call us on 01803 247999. 🐾💙
