We’ve been looking after these cuties this week whilst their family has been on holiday.

Daily pop in visits for feeding, litter cleans and a run around for Cupcake the house rabbit.

We're finally getting a bit of summer but remember even though we might like to go out in the sunshine, it can be dangerous for your pets.

Here are our top tips for keeping your pets safe -

✔️Walk your dogs during cooler times of the day, first thing in the morning or late in the evening.

✔️Make sure your pet has plenty of water available.

✔️Ensure your pet has access to cooler areas, either a cool place in the house with a fan or shady parts of the garden.

✔️Brush any knots out of your dog's coats, this will help air pass through their coat and help them regulate their body temperature.

✔️Make your pet some yummy frozen treats for snack time, fill a kong with yogurt and treats then pop it in the freezer, or if you don't have a kong try making some ice cube snacks.

❌Avoid walking dogs during the middle of the day, especially on pavements. Tarmac absorbs heat and can be a lot hotter than the air temperature. Test the temperature by placing the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds, if you can't hold your hand there its too hot for your pet's paws and could lead to burns.

❌Don't leave your dog in a car even with the windows open, parked cars can heat up fast and dogs can quickly get heat stroke.

Eeeee it's the best time of the year! CRUFTSMAS!!! 🐶🐶🐶

Good luck to all those participating over the next few days! If you are visiting hope you come back with lots of shopping bags, and if you are enjoying it from the comfort of your own home below are the times you can find it on Channel 4 so set those recorders.

We're heading down with a couple of our dogs as part of a heelwork to music display team on Friday in the Good Citizens Ring in hall 3, so come say hi if you are there.
