Yikes, it's raining kitty cats and doggies out there today!Take a leaf out of beautiful Luna's book and have a cat-tastic day chillaxing at your humble abode with your purr-cious bundles of fluff and recharge those batteries! There's nothing better than some kitty cat therapy to reduce stress and anxiety. ..and here is Tuffers gorgeous sister, Russo ❤️ This stunning Calico kitty, with the most incredible green eyes, is a real sweetie pie full of love, kitty cat fun and mischief 😻 Did you know that a Calico cat always has three colours in its coat, typically white, orange and black, which is known as tricolour? More interestingly, Calico cats are predominantly female as one Calico in 3,000 is male! Happy Purrs-day cat peeps😻

Happy 'Gotcha' Day my gorgeous and sweetest bundle of fluff, Fraggie! I really cannot believe it's eight years ago that we adopted you and oh boy oh boy, did you make our home complete with the sound of your ickle pitter patter feet, sweet little happy rolls, cute 'gizmo' meows, super purr-fectionate ways and kitty cat fun (not to mention your snoring!) As soon as I walked into your pen at Cats Protection, you completely and utterly melted my heart when you bunted my legs and stared up at me with the most incredible saucer eyes purring away - the bond between us was instantaneous and it has grown stronger and stronger each day. It breaks my heart to write this (with many tears rolling down my face), but this is sadly a bitter sweet post as this week we received the devastating news that you have a heart condition which is also causing other issues - it was a huge shock as only a few weeks ago you were so spritely and even last weekend you were chasing off the new kiddos on the block when they came into your territory. However, despite being desperately unwell, you are fighting for your life and have the most amazing strength to want to live. I love and adore you so, so much baby girl - you truly are the apple of my eye and your determination to try and beat this never ceases to amaze me ❤️❤️❤️

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, it's Black Cat Appreciation Day, a time when our purr-cious black fur babies are celebrated to raise awareness of the challenges they face and to dispel myths surrounding these beautiful creatures. Sadly, due to old superstitions that black cats are unlucky and many hoomans thinking that our sleek and mysterious pals are not photogenic, black cats have to wait much, much longer to be adopted from rescue shelters. If you've been thinking about adopting a kitty of your own, maybe today is the day you welcome a black furry feline into your life? So many rescue centres are bursting at the seams with cats waiting for their fur-ever homes, especially black cats. Let's celebrate this special day by giving your fur babies extra cuddles, strokes and scrummy yumptious treats! It makes me so.ooooo happy that I look after lots of beautiful black cats (and I also adopted my own black kitty, Fraggie in August 2016) and as you can see from the photos, it's absolute hocus pocus that these stunning kitties are not photogenic! Oh Millie you are such a gorgeous and sassy bundle of fluff with the most amazing tri-coloured coat and dazzling eyes ❤️ Did you know that 'Calico' kitties are sometimes referred to as lucky cats? Japan has the closest ties to these feline lucky charms. You’re probably familiar with the waving Maneki-neko, or Money Cat. This statue originated in Japan in the late 1800s and is based on the calico cat. Hehe gorgeous Barnaby, you are such a super cutie drinking water from the tap 😹 It's going to be a stonking hot day so it's important to keep your purr-cious bundles of fluff hydrated as much as possible. If your kitty doesn't drink much water, mix a little in their wet food and this will do the trick! Did you also know that our furry pals don't like the scent of food whilst drinking water so always put food and water in a separate location to encourage them to drink more! Ohhhhh beautiful Beryl, you have come on leaps and bounds since I started looking after you a couple of years ago and are such a meow-tastic bundle of fluff with the most gorgeous squeaks ❤️. This amazing and extremely brave kitty had an incredibly tough time in her early years until her wonderful and caring hoomans rescued her and she is now living her best life ❤️ She was such a shy kitty when I first met her but she has really come out of her shell and is super purr-fectionate and loves oddles of fuss - super cuteness overload 😻 Hip Hip Happy Friday cat peeps 🎉🎉

Woo hoo, it's going to be scorchio today so here are some top tips to keep your purrcious fluffies cool and comfy in this heat:-

😻 Ensure that your kitty is kept well hydrated and has access to plenty of water
😻 Make sure that there is substantial shade in the garden
😻 Just like human beings, cats with light hair or pink skin are susceptible to sunburn or cancer. Therefore, it's important to put animal sun cream on your kitty's ears, nose and tummy
😻 Brush their fur daily, matted hair traps heat so it's particularly important to do this with long haired kitties
😻 Freeze cat food in an ice cube tray and this makes a delicious icy treat for your fur baby
😻 Keep curtains/blinds closed and create a darkened and cool little indoor retreat for them to sleep and feel safe
😻 Watch out for heat stroke and if you cat shows sign of breathing rapidly, agitation or distress, contact your vet immediately

It is with a heavy heart to share the incredibly sad news that beautiful Sky crossed over Rainbow Bridge at the weekend. I only looked after you a few times but was super excited to be looking after you and your gorgeous sister later this month to give you lots of kitty cat love and cuddles. You were such a wonderful fur baby. Heaven has gained another angel with the most stunning eyes that will shine down on us so brightly.
