UPDATE

My diary for this month is nearly full already. If you haven’t already and are looking for an appointment this month please message me ASAP.

From Friday the 9th of August I will be closing my diary and taking no bookings. I will work up until the end of the month but only for my bookings I have in the diary already

18/07/2024

Just a post to say I am still working. I have had a few client ask when I am reopening.

I am just currently booking a few weeks in advance so the earlier you book your appointment the better.

My current plans is that I will work up until the 31st of August.

I then plan to take the full of September off and possibly into October. I am moving house at the end of September too so coming back to work will depend on the move and baby.

Remember, if it’s too hot for your hands or your bare feet, then it’s too hot for their paw pads! ⚠️

If you’re unsure whether it’s okay to let your pet go for a walk on pavements, a simple way to test the temperature is by holding your bare skin on the tarmac for five seconds ⏱️

If you find it painful, then your pet will find it painful to walk on!

To protect your pet, it’s best to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day, which is usually between 8am and 6pm. If you can't safely exercise your dog, missing a day won't hurt.

JUST A REMINDER, TO ALL DOG OWNERS.

⚠️🚙⚠️ Despite the warnings, hundreds of dogs in the UK die every year after being left in a hot car. Someone you know may need to read this very important message. ⚠️🚙⚠️

SIX MINUTES is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot car.

Your dog could suffer serious injury or die in a matter of minutes if left alone in a car.

• The temperature inside a closed vehicle left in the sun can double within 12 minutes.

• At least 75% of the temperature increase in a closed vehicle occurs within 5 minutes of closing the vehicle, and at least 89% of the temperature increase occurs within 15 minutes of closing the vehicle.

• Temperatures exceeding 104˚ F can lead to death or serious injury for the occupants.

• Temperatures in a closed vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach 160˚F and above. An animal will suffer immeasurably and may die before the temperature reaches 150˚F.

• Even when parked in the shade, the vehicle temperatures can exceed 104˚C.

• Leaving windows down more than 2 inches on an unattended vehicle will not prevent a car from reaching extreme temperatures.

• Even if the animal is revived, they can die due to severe internal organ damage.

Your dog trusts you to have their best interest at heart ALWAYS.
Please don’t risk their safety.

If you are not taking your dog inside your destination with you, PLEASE leave them at home where they are comfortable and safe.

Just a little reminder to client's...

I am still working full time at vets and do my business on the side. This meaning I sometimes work 7 days a week without taking time for myself.

I am currently 7 months pregnant and struggling when clients message for the same week/ day/ few days in advance appointment's.

I love what I do and don't want to give up but it is now reaching the point that I am stressed with it and the only way going forward would be to close my business.

Just a little life update

As all my clients know I’m due my baby girl in September.
Time is going so fast and I can’t believe I have just over 14 weeks until her due date!

I am planning on working hopefully right up until the start of September.
There is however a few changes I have made to my business since being pregnant

🤰🏼 I am currently not accepting new clients
🤰🏼 I am doing less clients in one day, so booking an appointment may be longer to slot in than before
🤰🏼 I am also asking clients to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

If anything is to change with my pregnancy or my health business will stop with immediate effect but I will let clients know.
Thankfully things have been going smoothly and I can still do everything I could do before being pregnant and that includes playing my bagpipes 😅

Just a note to say, I’m still working away and this will be my intention until hopefully the end of my pregnancy.

I am still no longer taking on new clients for the foreseeable future.

My diary is filling up much faster than ever as I try to scatter clients more especially now that my bump is getting bigger

Clients have been desperate to find out. Me and my partner are having a little princess 👑

Animals Throughout History:

***REMEMBERING THE CATS***

Thousands of cats were dispatched to the trenches during WW1 to keep rodent numbers down and act as early warning detectors for mustard gas. So many gave great comfort to the troops as companions and mascots. How many cats survived we will never know?

Paws At The Ready -
The cats of World War One had significant role in all the campaigns, we must honour their bravery too.

Give thought to all the kitties
who served in World War One.
A battalion of the finest
who never fired a gun.
What was their role?
Whether hunting rodents out at sea,
or loyal friends to men,
these many cats had vital roles,
time and time again.

The food was saved.
A common sight in trenches deep,
dispatching mice and rats,
the soldiers’ had a special bond
with many of these cats.
Many were treasured mascots.
Five hundred thousand cats were sent
to serve in the Great War.
Some detected mustard gas,
whilst others were off shore.

Some of the feline heroes -
Togo was the Dreadnought’s cat,
The Swan had their lad Ching.
Pincher was the Vinex’s mog,
it was luck they hoped they’d bring.
‘Martinpuich’ was aptly named,
by The 9th battalion chaps.
Pitouchi was the orphaned kit,
who’d survived on army scraps.
Spark Plug, Tabby and many more
were companions to the troops.
The feline unsung heroes,
those cats who became recruits.

We’ll never truly realise
just what these cats went through.

So spare a thought and give some thanks
for what they did for you!
