Update / Plans

Life has thrown me a few curveballs over the last year which has meant that I have had to take a back seat with breeding. As an ethical breeder I didn’t feel it was ethical or right to continue breeding with all the rubbish that life was throwing my way - this does however mean that I am back to trying to pull things back which is easier said than done.

I did have one litter in January which was the start of a new pink eyed white line. As with any line starting from scratch it takes time to build and develop and that will be my focus now until the end of the year. I have planned matings which will hopefully happen soon 🤞(baring in mind gestation and homing at 8 weeks of age takes us to the Autumn). These litters should be a mixture of agouti, silver fawn and pink eyed white.

My 2026 plans are to add dumbo into the mix. My goal is PEW in top ear and dumbo whilst having silver fawn (and possibly champagne) around in the litters also. I want to keep the line as recessive free as possible.

This however means…. time. My does aren’t over bred, I don’t breed them young and I consider health and temperament so any dumbo would be looking at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027 😱

For now, I do have matings planned so hopefully within the next few weeks we shall have babies again.

On Saturday I went to Woodford show where I was judging varieties. My BIS was a beautiful Russian buff kitten owned and bred by Blue Apple Rats (the lady with the four red dots). I entered a couple of girls into pets and Kismet Soliloquy (red red green star stickers) won breeder owned doe, breeder owned pet and fourth overall 🥰
