To travel with your pet to an EU country or Northern Ireland,
there are some requirements your pet will need before you
travel. We would recommend that you start the process at least
four months before your journey.

Heat stress starts as a reversible condition, but if not managed it
will develop to heat stroke, which is extremely dangerous.
If your pet shows any of these signs, they should be moved to a
cool area and offered plenty of water to drink.

Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can be
harmful. We control their environment, their access to water
and their exercise, and they can’t speak up if they start feeling
unwell. Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with
veterinary treatment, is often fatal.

Our pets are part of the family and we want to share fun
experiences with them – including taking them on holiday!
While this often results in great fun and wonderful memories,
there are a few things to consider first. A bit of planning
beforehand goes a long way towards making it a positive
experience for everyone.

You may never have seen behind the consultation room in a veterinary practice.

So take a look at the work our vets and nurses do on the front line every day to look after animals in veterinary practices, hospitals, in the field and on call - so that they receive the best possible care.

Thanks to Molly Case for the poem you have written about our profession.

We are excited to be starting to run Puppy Parties at our Leyburn branch in the near future. These will be socialisation sessions run by our nurse Tori who is currently completing a canine behaviour certificate. They will include information on basic training, healthcare and socialisation. Puppy Parties give a good opportunity to visit the practice and meet our friendly team in a safe, fun environment. They are open to fully vaccinated puppies between 12 and 16 weeks old. Please contact the practice if you would like more information or register your interest.

History of Yoredale Vets

Yoredale Vets was formed in 2014 from the merger of two long-established local practices, each having provided veterinary services to local communities for over 50 years. With surgeries in Masham and Leyburn, Yoredale Vets meets the needs of clients throughout Wensleydale, Swaledale, Nidderdale and the Vale of York. In 2018 Yoredale Vets became a member of the CVS group.

Our team of highly dedicated and experienced veterinary surgeons and vet nurses are devoted to your pet’s wellbeing. Your pets are always our priority. We all have our own pets and work hard to provide the same service to you that we would want for our own much-loved animals. At our surgery we provide continuity of care, working with you to provide effective and high quality treatment. From routine vaccinations through to surgical consultations, we build client relationships that support you. And whatever medications you need, our on-site dispensary will be able to provide them.

Yoredale Vets is a trading name of CVS (UK) Limited and is registered in England and Wales. Registration number: 03777473. Registered Office: CVS House, Owen Road, Diss, Norfolk, IP22 4ER
