We say a sad goodbye to Basil, the beautiful Springer who loved any and every ball toy that came into his eyeline. He was a lively but gentle soul who will be very much missed by Suzanne, Stuart, and all his family and friends.

Saying a sad goodbye to Jodie, who has gone over the Rainbow Bridge.
Jodie was a character, she battled through illness, and came out smiling, as only a Shih Tzu can.
She leaves very sad hoomans - both family and friends - but will always be remembered with a smile.

Wishing everyone a belated New Year, I hope you are all well and wonderful.
I am amazed to say that, due to demand, Hotel Hattie is now fully booked for 2023. Consequently, I am now taking bookings for 2024.
As a result of rising costs, I have also - reluctantly - had to put my prices up to:
£30/24hrs (or part thereof), for one dog.
£20/24hrs (or part thereof) for each additional dog.
All very best wishes to you all. Lhina x

Wishing all friends, old and new, whether four-legged or two, a merry Christmas to all of you from Hotel Hattie's crew 🐶

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to the anonymous person who found a lost collar with a "Hotel Hattie" tag on, and left it on our postbox.
You are a star! x

BIT OF AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE !!

Hi! Here at Hotel Hattie, we love our life! We love helping you go off on holiday happily, knowing you leave your dog/s having their own holiday here, safe and loved.

One of the things about home boarding that attracts you is that it is SMALL, and self-limiting, so you know you your dog/s get our full attention all the time.

The trouble is, that is exactly the problem now. We are restricted as to numbers, and there are not a lot of us offering home boarding.

At the moment, we are getting LOTS of enquiries - many are last minute, and many from people who have been let down. We would love to help, but we cannot - we have been booked up for some time now, with clients booking into 2023 and 2024 already.

We have had to decide to close our books to new clients, to give our loyal regulars access to the odd free days that might be available. We will open again as soon as possible, but will be taking bookings for next year onwards.

The South Glos council website has a downloadable list of all licensed home boarders in their "licensed animal premises " section (on this page - https://www.southglos.gov.uk/business/animal-health-welfare/animalwelfare/licensing-animal-activities-2018/ ).

Do make sure that the person you leave your dog/s with is licensed and insured, they will be happy to show you evidence. Licensed home boarders are inspected to ensure health & safety standards are reached, and that knowledge of dog first aid, behaviour, body language, and animal welfare is evidenced.

Just by the by, some of us have been shouted and sworn at when explaining why we cannot be of help - that is really not on. We really do want to be of help whenever possible,
So, whilst we love our life, we are finding the present times frustrating and upsetting, and we really hope that we will see you some day here at Hotel Hattie.

All the very best, Lhina xx

Hello all!

To all owners whose dogs pull on lead on walks …
I have always said that the WalkRite by Trixie was the best harness to combat pulling on the lead - I have had a lot of success over the years.
However, many people recently have been unable to track them down, and the concensus was that the firm had closed.
NOT SO!! The WalkRite harness is now called MIKKI.
Very available online.

We are certain that you all know this, but...
PLEASE DO NOT WALK YOUR PRECIOUS DOGGIES ON HOT PAVEMENTS. x

We have just heard that there is a royal blue van driving around the Yate area, the driver is asking questions of people who have dogs. Please be wary, and make sure your own furry friends are secure.

An older but fit lady is in need of a companion.
She has approached various rehoming centres, and been told that she is ‘too old’. Which is ludicrous.
A middle-aged, middle-sized dog would be perfect.
The lady is a knowledgeable dog owner and offers plenty of exercise and much love. Any ideas, anyone?
Please feel free to contact Lhina on 07857653549.

Hi
This is a reach out message to anyone who walks dogs in Ridge Wood.
A dog was poisoned last night, after eating something as yet unidentified [PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED IMAGE]. Sadly, she died in the early hours of this morning. Our thoughts go out to the owner
Do take care, everyone, especially with food-led breeds such as labs and spaniels etc.
If you see of hear anything to suggest that this is not an isolated case, please spread the word. I would be grateful if I could be in the loop.
Please SHARE this, so that more and more people are made aware.

Barney.
One of a priceless and devoted pair.
Special, loving and much loved, he will be very much missed.

Hi guys.
Amazed to be reminded that some people are walking their dogs in this heat. Not only do they get terribly overheated, and can die of heat exhaustion ... but they burn their pads on hot pavements.
I am aware I am preaching to the converted here...
Be safe, be cool, be well.

Hi
Just came across some information, some of it conflicting, concerning artificial grass that a lot of people are putting down now.
We found a site stating that the grass becomes EXTREMELY hot in direct sunlight, whilst another said that if you get specific good quality artificial turf, especially for pets, it does not get that hot. Another mentioned that, when frozen, the artificial grass would wound paws. This again was contradicted by a manufacturer.
All in all, I can only say that it is a bit of a minefield, so research is needed before buying!!
Cheers, Lhina x

Hi guys! Just touching base, hoping everyone is safe and well.
We are OK here, but I am suffering a dreadful allergic reaction to NOT HAVING ANY DOGS!!!!! (Obvs...!)
For any new interested parties, I am taking bookings for 2021, when *hopefully* things will be a little more stable.
Love, hugs and ear rubs, Lhina and Jakey.

This is a strange and worrying time.
Sending out thoughts and airhugs to all, looking to better times ahead.
With much love, and hoping you all stay safe and well.

Thank you all for your interest. He is sorted safely.

A teacup chihuahua is in urgent need of a home. He is 3 years old and is a smooth white and tan.
He had a very bad start to life, but has recovered very well with his current owner.
Sadly, a change in circumstance means he cannot stay where he is.
He needs a quiet, calm environment, with the individual attention of his new owner.
An older person would be ideal.
If you are interested, please contact Lhina on 07857653549.

IMPORTANT

To all our lovely clients.

We are all experiencing a worrying and confusing time, dealing with the emerging crisis surrounding the COVID-19 virus.

I have already had cancellations, and fully anticipate more. Please could you give me as much notice as possible, make sure all contact details are up-to-date, and that ensure that plans are in place to cover illness or delays in your return from travels. I will discuss the financial aspects on an individual basis.

Be well, everyone, and let’s take care of all those around and about us. In this situation we really are one big family.

With love, Lhina x
