Just moved to a fresh field and on my way to move the feeders out of the field when I had to stop to catch the fun
This is only Zambezi’s second outing and a county show no less, there were three spotties in the class and Zambezi was the only one placed.
You are doing an amazing job with her Chloe, I hope you had a great day.
Someone slept through the hay arrival and woke up thinking he was an abandoned child 😂
Beautiful Moon, isn’t she stunning!
I forgot to do the two testicle video of Banksy when he was born and it’s not easy when they are older, but here hopefully you can see the top pointing up towards it belly and it moves back as I lift the leg, and the bottom one lying across his leg
Halona Banksy , suppressed leopard colt
A very sweet moment this morning despite Ice being in discomfort as her uterus started to shrink back
Beautiful Halona Flash Harry (Donatello x Halona Itza Goodun), a beautiful chestnut leopard in all his glory
There is one foal every year that’s just far too bold and would climb all over you if you’d let them, last year it was Rummy, this year it’s Sovanna, you know when they start wagging that tail that you are in trouble!
Beautiful Kiara Bella (Donatello x Make it Count (Grafenstolz)) - isn’t she fabulous. Full sister to Zambezi and Enchanted Storm, out of the same mare as Airs N Graces
Halona Belita, this filly is a little powerhouse, mum made her step out beautifully for the camera
Halona Wombat a super elegant and bold filly
Halona Stormzy (Donatello x Grafenstolz)
To make 16.1 +
Quality correct and mannerly colt
Will be regularly wormed and see the farrier (he’s had both already, so important to keep them growing correctly and healthily)
Beautiful Belle and the new boy
Forgot to share this precious moment the other day, Sovanna shortly after birth
It’s been a long night with this one.
She was quick to her feet but it soon became apparent there wasn’t a lot else going on, no sucking reflex, no bonding with mum, no looking for milk.
This is our first dummy foal since the Madigan Squeeze has been discovered, so at two hours old I gave it a go.
Straight away afterwards she started chatting to mum.
Within twenty minutes of it being over the sucking reflex was in place.
And about ten minutes later she sort of started looking for the milk but not that strongly, so I bottle fed her 600ml of her mums colostrum and walked away for two hours.
Came back and she was still looking on stable walls.
So I held her alongside mum again, which isn’t easy as she a big strong foal and by this time mum was also getting stressed,
Anyway with the help of honey on the teats, I managed to hold her long enough until she latched on whilst I helped her balance.
I walked away again for an hour and came back once I saw her on her feet and to my joy she went straight to the right spot (although still only interested in the one side and nipple) and I took this little video to remember the relief I felt.
It’s been a Long week with the Faker known as Fiasco and an even longer night with a no longer dummy foal 🙂. But without the Madigan Squeeze it would be a very long week or two and maybe no foal to show for it either. What an amazing discovery for breeders world wide this is.
Oh and whilst we are talking about these pair, Fiasco makes me laugh, in between every contractions she looks towards her bum excitingly chatting her to new baby and a look of disappointment when there is still nothing much there. Sorry Fiasco, a lot more work to do yet, bless her she never can wait to greet her baby
And then there was another chestnut filly
