Belzeboob had become quite worried when visiting the practice, so we made sure to take her vaccination appointment at her pace.

After a little spritz of Pet Remedy Calming Spray and lots of fusses, she decided we weren't so bad after all and purred the whole time🥰 She even found herself a comfy spot on the nurses seat🖤

Well done gorgeous girlie, you were a superstar!🐈‍⬛🌟

We first met Nancy when she was a naughty pup back in 2020 - she had emergency surgery to remove a sock she had eaten ... This time, she was in for her spay 🥰
As you can see, she's all grown up now, but still got those same puppy dog eyes🥹😍

March is here, and so is our new Star Patient Of The Month ✨Jed✨

Jed has always been extremely nervous to come into the practice, so our lovely nurse Lel has spent the last 6 months doing socialisation visits with him to boost his confidence.
Over that time he has come on leaps and bounds and even walks into the practice no bother at all. He even sits in the vets consult room and gives paw for treats!👏🏼
Jed had his booster vaccination last week at Cotgrave and was an absolute superstar! ⭐
If your dog is nervous about the vets feel free to get in touch and have a chat with Lel about socialisation visits.

As today marks one year since the passing of our sunshine Vet Charlotte, we would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support and patience during, what has been, the most difficult year our team members have faced of their veterinary careers.

We remember Charlotte, and talk about her everyday and are lucky to have had the honour to work alongside her.🧡
Our staff room is filled with many photos of happy memories with Charlotte and her contagious smile, and she will always be a massive part of the Buttercross Family.
In June, the team will be taking part in the Pretty Mudder race in honour of Charlotte and will be fundraising for cancer research.

Hello February, and hello to our new 🌟Star Patient Of The Month🌟 Mabel🌟 (and her best friend Colin🐛)

Mabel was seen last week for a dental procedure where she had to have an impressive 31 extractions!!🦷

After a very long and fiddly dental procedure, lovely Mabel was an absolute superstar and recovered beautifully, she was even eager to eat her post op dinner (with a little bit of help).🥇✨
Dental extractions aren't fun for our vets (nor for our patients) so we only remove teeth that are absolutely necessary.

Prevention is always better than cure, so to lessen the chances of your pet suffering toothache and dental disease, train them to tolerate tooth brushing as early as possible 🪥 (with pet friendly toothpaste of course)
When fully matured, dogs have 42 teeth and cats have 30, so they usually recover really well after having teeth removed, and can quite happily manage a dry kibble diet once they've healed 👍🏼

Unfortunately a member of the public has handed in a cat who has been involved in an RTA, and is sadly deceased.
The cat has not microchipped, he is an entire male, black cat with 4 white feet and a patch of white on his chest.

He was found in Plungar.

This new year brings with it a new Star Patient Of The Month, introducing ✨Millie✨

Back in the summer Millie's owner noticed her losing weight but eating a lot, so she came in for a blood test where we discovered her thyroid levels were sky high!

A few different treatment options were offered, and Millie's mum opted to refer her to the Hyperthyroid Cat Centre, ( The Hyperthyroid Cat Centre ) where she stayed for 8 days and received radioiodine therapy.

Radioiodine therapy is a non-invasive, radio-active treatment that destroys thyroid tumours.

Once home Millie had to remain isolated for one month post treatment. Initially, she wasn't even allowed a bed time cuddle but as the weeks went by her interaction time gradually increased until she was back to her usual snuggly self🥰

We recently saw Millie back for a blood test and we are so thrilled to announce that she is no longer hyperthyroid and is now fully cured!🤗

Well done Millie, we are so proud of you! 🖤
