I felt little tilly deserved a post of her own being the only girl to leave us. Tilly was very hard to part with but i knew deep down our home wasn't the right place for her. Tilly loved one to one attention and with them beautiful eyes that make you melt i knew i had to let her go. She seems more then content in her new home so that lifts my spirits x x x
Fraser in his new home meeting his new big brother. So lovely getting updates on him. I knew he was ready but you cant help worry about them.
Iv been neglecting this page a bit as its been very busy here. The pups are now 6 weeks and the work has kicked up a notch. Wev slowly introduced missy to the pups and she happily plays with them in the mornings before it gets to hot. The pups have all started to go out for walks in my arms to get them used to outside noises such as cars and have started spending longer periods individually away from the rest of the litter.
The pups love the tunnel.
10 o'clock last night and the pups were enjoying a final play before bedtime.
Wev introduced they pups to a snuffle mat these are great for working the puppies senses ziggy(mr grey) and mr blue who has had so many name changes i have no idea what hes called now seem so have got the idea of the mat straight away.
I was supposed to do the others photos today but i didn't get around to it. Tillys visit with her new daddy went well and i think the love was mutual. It was agreed choosing between the boys is not going to be easy for viewers over the next few days as they are all lovely.
As iv neglected the photos heres a little video of the boys playing. Excuse the state of the duvet its one i throw down anywhere and everywhere, today its been outside to help the pups get down the step from the back door.
So following on from the socialisation post earlier this week i thought id explain a little of what we have been doing this week.
The video show the puppies experiencing the noise of fireworks for the first time. They reacted exactly as we had hoped and expected. They were a little startled at first but as the fear response is still under developed they quickly settled and were no longer bothered by the strange noise. We have played this at random times while the puppies are both awake and asleep and will continue to do so. Other tasks we have started this week include introducing the pups through the stair gate to our other dogs. Akiki couldn't work out what they are and kept his distance, missy showed more interest and the pups just wanted to get back to exploring.
Taking the ball the pups like to play with and rolling it outside there pen were they cant reach it, this helps them learn to control there frustration.
We have also provided the pups with lots of different materials to explore with there feet such as pillows, blankets, vinyl, carpet and piled up towels around the kitchen. If while the pup is exploring they get stuck under a blanket for instance,we stand back and as long as it is safe allow the pup to work out how to free themselves rather then intervening. This helps them build problem solving skills which is essential in later life.
Finally we had one good day of weather so the pups had a few minutes in the garden. Fingers crossed for some more good weather or else il be making the puppies jumpers.
There have been lots of other tasks done this week butvi thought id share a few, next week we will continue to build on these as well as introduce more new tasks.
Excuse the mess theyv just been fed and i wait for them to fall asleep before changing the pads( it takes half the time). The pups have now discovered toys mr yellow likes the spiked ball in the back ground mr blue here seems to like the rope toy.
At 3 and a half weeks old with a set of teeth like needles there is no way this isnt sore for zola. Im so proud of my girl not every mum would feed as well as she does.
Mr burgundy had already helped himeslf to zolas food this morning, so thought id give the pups some lunch and see how they go sure enough they love it.
The feeding frenzy part 1. We have anothee busy day ahead. Yesterday all the pups were wormed, today the puppy pool is coming down and they will have separate sleeping playing and toileting areas. Now seems a good time to do this as we have a couple of pups that are extra confident in there ability to climb and have had a few escape attempts, they are also already showing a preference to sleeping away from where they toliet so this will give them more space 😀.
I upset the pups cleaning them out this morning luckily zo knows just how to settle them. Some cuddles and now there all back asleep if miss nia who makes a lot of noise through out this.
Day 15 the pups will be wormed for the first time this week we are giving them a few extra days, due to there tummys only just starting to settle down after zolas antibiotics x
Pups are 2 weeks old now. Only another 2 weeks till thet start meeting there new families. Mr grey decided yo investigate the bed on all 4 feet.
The pups are going longer between feeds now but there always one that likes to disturb the peace. I could and do watch these all day 😍
Im trying to get a cuddle with my girl but someone wants to join us x
Please excuse my horrid voice in this. I hate the sound of my own voice in video and keep trying to be quiet for the pups dispite knowing they cant hear me anyway.
