At Cats Protection, we never know who will come through our door next. Some cats are strays, others abandoned, too often we see kittens left to fend for themselves. Every one of these stories will tug at our hearts. And all of these cats will need urgent help and care in some way. UPDATE

Tiggy will be off to a rural location early next week.

Tiggy the tabby is almost three years old looking for her special home. She came from a rural location outside Andover and is not impressed being kept inside one of our cat pens as she has been used to being able to come and go as she chooses. Ideally she needs another rural location to call home, perhaps stables or small holding and if she wants, to be able to come inside for a fuss then spend most of her time outside. Please share to find her ideal home.

POOR SMUDGE IS STILL WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ADOPT HER? PLESE SHARE?

Smudge is a beautiful 10 year old female looking for her new home. She came into our care as her owner went into care. She really needs to be the only pet in her new home and no young children. She is used to going out and about and is fed up in her cat pen not being able to go outside. Please share so we can find her a suitable home as soon as possible.

Ash is 4 years old looking for his forever home away from busy roads. He’s a lovely, friendly boy who purrs and loves a fuss. He could live with teenagers but has no experience of dogs. He would love to be the only pet in the family.

We have opened our doors once again at Rotations charity shop in London Road, Whitchurch. We are open Tue to Sat this week and Mon to Thursday next week. UPDATE

The beautiful TIlly has been reserved and off to her new home tomorrow.

TIlly is about 10 years old who came into our care because her owner has gone into care. She is looking for her forever home with a secure garden as she likes to potter around outside when the sun is out. She would prefer an older person or couple as she prefers the quiet life. Please contact us if you can offer her the retirement home she needs.

Still thinking about volunteering in 2024 ?

Do you love cats? Do you have a few spare hours each week/month? Do you want to make a difference? Do you enjoy meeting people?

If you answered yes to any of these questions (mostly, do you love cats?) then we'd love to hear from you. Our current volunteer vacancies are listed below (these are unpaid volunteer roles).

Andover Branch is run by a team of hardworking volunteers and we're always looking for new volunteers to help out in any different ways. No previous experience necessary - just a willingness to learn, training will be given.
There are lots of different ways you can help, perhaps you like meeting new people in which case you could help out at a fundraising event, or maybe you're a whizz with the computer and can help with admin, sometimes we just need someone to take a cat to the vets!

Whatever your skills or interests, please give us a ring ,we'd love to hear from you. It’s a great way to meet new people who have a common interest (CATS!!), have some fun and help make a difference to the lives of so many abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens.

The branch is particularly keen to recruit additional volunteers in the following areas:

- Fundraising volunteers
- Volunteer Treasurer
- Fosterers

Happy New Year.
Thank you to everyone who has adopted from us or supported us in so many ways. This past year we have homed 102 cats and kittens which would not be possible without the help and care from our fosterers, committee members and everyone who has followed us on here. Here’s to a successful 2024.

- £10 could buy an 'igloo' for an elderly cat to curl up inside and keep warm.

Lifeline is Cats Protection’s dedicated fostering service that provides temporary, loving homes for cats whose families are fleeing domestic abuse. Our network of dedicated Lifeline fosters look after cats until their owners are able to take them back safely. That gives survivors the chance to get away from danger, knowing they’ll be together again soon. This is just one of the ways Cats Protection is making a better life for cats and people together. Ali’s new owner has been kind enough to allow me to post these gorgeous photos of her settled into her forever retirement home. Ali is 15 years old and had been with us for a few months before she landed on her paws. Thank you so much for considering an older cat which always wait longer than cute kittens. Looks like she’s thriving!
