We are a small private stud based in the beautiful Blackmore vale, on the Dorset / Somerset borders. With my first foal arriving over 25 years ago, I have a wealth of experience. Also a British Dressage competitor , with over 200 BD points , I have trained numerous horses from backing to advanced. I try to breed foals that are exactly what I like to ride, trainable, sound and good looking! With o

ver 15 years experience in the Equine feed and supplement industry, working for Blue Chip brands, I have an extensive knowledge of equine nutrition and behaviour. We are totally “off grid “ here at Wild Oak Stud , this means we generate all the power we need here, mainly by solar. We do not use artificial fertiliser or pesticides on our land and our mares and foals are fed a non GMO diet. We also have extensive natural hedgerows and wild flower areas.

Anyone who follows us regularly will know we employ a gradual weaning process here. This means the foals slowly spend more and more time apart from their mums. In the closest stable is Dream who is not bothered in the slightest that she can not get to her mum who is in the next stable , happily tucking in to ad lib hay in the true sense 🤣🥰

What a fantastic journey it is having a horse from a weanling and watching them develop. It’s not always a smooth ride but so worth it!
Just the best feeling knowing exactly what they’ve experienced and to be able to make sure they don’t have any nasty experiences.
We have foals available for bold mummies and daddies who want to experience that journey.
