SLO (Social Licence to Operate) - public acceptance of your activity.

This is something I have great concern over and been speaking about for many years. The start of no bridles on horses and next could there be a potential full ban on riding!

Then what happens to all the beautiful horses 😔 I know many who wouldn't have horses if they couldn't ride 😢

Then what happens to them. do they get put to sleep, become part of the food chain but many are officially excluded from the food chain.

If banned from equestrian sport and leisure in later years will they join the rare breeds and could face extinction 😢

Of course the whole equestrian industry would see a knock on effect and businesses would close!

Another thing I have discussed, is now more and more saddles are available online not just from a Saddle Fitter.

Here is a potential of saddles being bought with limited knowledge, for instance "it's labelled adjustable so it must fit all horses" 😬😢 additionally they don't realise how much a horse can change shape for saddle placement/fitting for instance, with a change of livery yard, change of routine, change of training regime etc etc, there are a huge amount of reasons.

Here we have the potential of owners unknowingly harming horses. Yes some will still get the saddle checked but there is a lot who won't and so it goes on. 😢

JUST IN CASE YOU ARE NOT YET TAKING THE ISSUE OF SLO IN EQUESTRIAN SPORT SERIOUSLY....

The Dutch Party for Animals is becoming increasingly influential in the Netherlands. They have also collected over 30,000 signatures on a petition to consider a ban of the use of bridles on horses. Due to the number of signatures, this topic will now be debated in the Dutch parliament to decide whether the use of bridles will be banned or not!

I am writing this with deepest regret to inform you that I will be closing my business.

The official last day of business will be 11th February and there will be no further appointment bookings or product orders after this date.

The decision has not been an easy one. I have really enjoyed the relationships that have been built over the last 17 years. I will never forget the amount of support I have received. It's been a wonderful journey and truly has been a pleasure working with everyone.
