A couple of weeks ago we took in a stray, very grubby, domestic female rat who was found hiding out in someone's kitchen. A few days later, our suspicions were confirmed and 3 tiny little beans arrived, who would appear to be half-wild!
Mum and babies are doing brilliantly so far, and we're very glad to have been able to help this little lady and her beans. No adoption enquiries yet for mama or babies please, they've got a way to go yet and are likely to need very experienced homes, with their wildie genes - we'll list them on our website when the time comes!
We'll be continuing to share regular updates on their progress as they grow in our Tiny Paws Pals monthly donors group - visit the link in our bio on Instagram or comments on Facebook to get involved 💚🐀

Meet Didsbury! On Monday, volunteer and Rat Wisperer, Beth succeeded in coaxing Didsbury out of the tube he'd been hiding in for a couple of days.
Didsbury came to us after being found left behind in a flat in the Didsbury area of Manchester. It's been a big change for him, so he's taking a little time to get to trust us.
He's lovely though, and I'm sure will fast become a favourite of ours.

Welcome to Wednesday & Morticia! 🐀🐀
They've come into our care after their parents were missexed, resulting in an unintentional litter. Rats are really one of the easiest rodents to sex, how pet shops and breeders manage to get this wrong I'll never understand!
It'll be a few months before these girls are available for adoption, so we are not taking enquiries just yet. Before then we'll be having them spayed once they're big enough, to set them up for a life with fewer health issues and to ensure they'll never go through what their mum did.
If you would like to donate towards their care and spay costs, they would be very grateful! https://donorbox.org/tiny-paws-mcr
Huge thanks to Bethany for transporting these lovelies for us. Absolute star 🌟
A peak at our forage advent calendars 🤩 Available to pre-order for the next couple of weeks via our website shop. Don't miss out!
Jira is a super cutie! He's OK with calm handling but can be a bit shy and sometimes gets startled by sudden movements. More info & adoption application on our website 🐹
The UK is in the midst of a rabbit welfare crisis and demand for rabbit rescue space is far beyond our current capacity. We are turning multiple rabbits away daily, and we need to be able to help more.
You could help us save the lives of more rabbits by volunteering as a foster carer. You'll need experience with rabbits or a willingness to learn, and an understanding that fostering is a medium-long term commitment as rabbits can often take many months to find homes.
We are running a webinar for people interested in getting involved this Sunday, 30th April. Visit this link to sign up https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScaQMSmLkWxI-6Q33ugi2inKkX3phHBfwH0tFkCeDrfSmUgMA/viewform

Biscuit, Liquorice and Candy are still waiting for their forever home! Biscuit is our current longest stay animal, having arrived with us in May 2022. He was bonded with Liquorice & Candy after they arrived in September 2022. It's about time they found their new family and the home they so deserve!
Yesterday afternoon we took in 3 adult female mice with a litter of 11 four week old half wild babies. Their previous human had wild mice living freely in their house, and seemingly a male wild mouse was repeatedly getting into the domestic mice's cage and mating with them. All adults are definitely female and the four week olds are obviously half wild, as much as I didn't believe the story before seeing them for myself!
On arrival one of the adult females was visibly pregnant. Within hours, she then gave birth to 9 babies.
This takes us from 2 mice to 25, and the other 2 adult females are also potentially pregnant. We are hoping to be able to have them treated with alizin asap to terminate any potential pregnancy. The adult females are 1.5 years old so pregnancy is really not in their best interests, nor in the best interests of animal welfare in general!
This intake is going to be costly for our charity. All male babies will need neutering once old enough, we have 6 males from the older litter and obviously likely more in the litter born yesterday. That's already £600 of vet treatment. The adult females are also sniffly/sneezy so likely have respiratory infections which will require vet treatment.
If you could spare a few £ to help these lovely mouse ladies and their babies, they would be endlessly grateful. We would also be thankful of food donations via our Amazon Wishlist.

SNOOOOWWWWWW!!!
Charles & Darwin had what was probably their first experience of hopping around in the snow just now. One of them was more keen than the other - Darwin took himself back off to bed to await breakfast 😅
These two are still waiting to find their forever home!
There are so many reasons to bond your rabbit - Alfie and Bluebell demonstrate one good reason here: learning to eat hay!
Alfie's humans report he does not eat a lot of hay at home, but now he's bonding with Bluebell (who is a great hay-eater), he's learning to eat more of the good stuff! 🌾
Here's hoping their bond continues to blossom and Bluebell can go home with Alfie and help him continue to eat a good diet 😋 it's all going well so far!
