Our advert states “An amazing life deserves amazing end of life care”. We pride ourselves on making this incredibly difficult time as stress free as possible for you and your pets. We always visit our elderly patients in their own home to save them the stress of travelling into practice and offer compassionate and individualised care.
* We offer pain relief, disease management and palliative care for your pets in the comfort of your own home.
When the time comes to to say goodbye
• We usually perform a clinical assessment and quality of life discussion unless this has already been done with your usual vets before our visit.
• We always discuss the procedure beforehand to help you understand the process and to address any fears or worries you may have. We are happy to accommodate any individual requests such as which treats to bring, places where the pet is more comfortable and who will be present when we arrive.
• ALL our visits are in the relaxed setting of your home or garden. This means most pets are already more at ease.
• We are happy to take referrals from your usual veterinary practice - We just need a copy of your pet's medical history and we will update them afterwards for their records.
• We use our unique combination sedative as standard to ensure your pet is fully relaxed and pain free in their final moments. Many older pets are uncomfortable being restrained, so we sneak this injection in at the back of the neck while they are distracted with treats, just like having a vaccination.
• Once the sedative injection is administered, we are happy to stand back and let your pet fall asleep with you in a quiet room. We only give the final injection once we are happy that they are fully asleep and relaxed.
• We only use local, well respected pet crematoriums which we have personally visited so that we can guarantee your pet will be well looked after once they have passed away and their individual ashes can be returned to you.
• If you are struggling to come to terms with the loss of your pet, we have a member of staff trained in pet bereavement to help you find the appropriate support at this difficult time.
We hope that by providing this information you will be better informed when the time does come to say goodbye. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of our team and we will support you through the process.
