Oh George, what are you like!
George had us so frightened on Wednesday, he was being sick, temperature & shaking so we got our vets here & gave him meds & a good check over. Couldn't figure out what was wrong but covered all our bases. Three days later he is using the recent rains to plot his escape & join the passing walkers on their jolley!
I'm just happy my little man feels better!

These two adorable piggies were about to lose the land they called home for the last 10 years, but we’re happy to provide them with a safe space for their retirement. 💚
Mable is definitely the boss, keeping George (who's dealing with arthritis) in check under her trotter. Thankfully, George is still full of life, and his daily walks are helping keep those joints moving! 🐾

🚨 Emergency Rescue Update! 🚨
We recently received a distress call about day-old chicks falling from an open lorry. 😔 Sadly, some were hit by cars, but 70 little ones were lucky enough to be saved thanks to a kind-hearted individual who jumped in to help.
We immediately drove an hour to collect the chicks, bringing them back to the rescue, checking each one over, and giving them much-needed warmth. 🐥💛
With the support of our amazing rescue family, we’ve divided them into 3 groups for better care. But with so many chicks, we’re quickly going through chick crumb and now need to build enclosures as they grow into big, healthy birds.

We certainly do not condone breeding, we work hard to remove all eggs & help chickens bodies regulate when they are feeling broody & we do a good job.... However when a chick fell from the barn roof we were perplexed at where she came from, turns out Bridget had been in the rafters of the barn sitting on her eggs! She stood staring at us with 6 little ones under her wings. We had to climb a ladder to help get the family down. We reunited all the babies & momma. These are huge birds, mum & dad (Eggo & I have had words & he is denying it) are both Shammos this is less than ideal but of course they will be loved & looked after.
We have so many birds with us, mainly cockrels so please do reach out if you have space for boys, they are great flock protectors & get along lovely!
