Oh dear 2021 is not starting out much better than the year we've left behind as once again we find ourselves in a national lockdown that is set to last until mid February according to the PM speech.

The Government guidelines clearly state that groomers are not essential workers and as such must close with the exception of welfare grooms. Under such circumstances it states a local customer can travel to the groomers for for essential welfare care. I will be in touch with anyone who has an appt booked in this lock down period.

And lastly, a quick update on Bronte, after spending 5 nights at the emergency vets she came home on Christmas Day. Physically she is doing very well but she is still struggling with some small but challenging behaviours which may or may not be permanent so sometimes you may have to bear with me going forward.

23/12/2020

Well I have now finished until the New Year and I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for your continued support and loyality and Christmas gifts during what has been a very difficult year for the whole world and here's hoping it has to pick up sometime in 2021.

For those of you who have been this week and know my girl, Bronte is at the emergency vets receiving life saving critical care, just to update you that although she is still very poorly she seems to be making tiny steps in the right direction. It has been a very difficult time and plainly a real sh*tty end to a real sh*tty year!

Stay safe as you celebrate Christmas and I'll see you all in the New Year. X

Following the announcement by PM Boris Johnson that the whole of England is going into a second lockdown from 5th Nov to 2nd Dec, I have been patiently waiting to see if dog groomers may stay open this time, but advice from Public Health England is clear that we are not on the list and as such must close again, with the exception of welfare cases. The gov site has stated that pet owners may leave their homes for 'grooming services if they are essential to your animals welfare'. I will be contacting people individually who were booked in during this period over this coming weekend so please be patient.
Stay safe everyone in the meantime and thank you for your continued loyality.

10/05/2020

Following the PM speech tonight I will be returning to work on Wednesday as that seems to be the day people will be able to travel more freely.

Initially I will be prioritizing dogs with wool coats and drop coats (specifically Shih Tzu's and Lhasa's and those who have been waiting since January above all others whilst I get on top of the back log. It will be slow, as social distancing and disinfecting, strict 1:1 sessions and longer intervals will need to be followed to protect everyone for the foreseeable future.

I will contact each of you with clear instructions prior to your appts to allow the new system to run smoothly.

Thank you for your patience. x

Following the Government review of the present lockdown situation, the sanctions will not be lifted for at least another 3 wks. So it is with regret that all those booked in up to and including Thursday 7th May will have to be cancelled. Obviously stopping the spread of Covid-19, staying home and staying safe is the number one priority we must not lose sight of.

Special shout out to my all customers working on NHS frontline and all you key workers doing a fantastic job during this awful pandemic. You are all heroes. X

I hope you are all staying safe and well through the Coronavirus pandemic. It is truly heart breaking listening to the news each day.

I, like the majority of groomers am still closed and following the advice issued by the Government to help protect us all. The 3 week Government review is due this week but it seems unlikely that the partial lockdown will be lifted.

I will therefore be cancelling those booked in for the week commencing 13th April, and will make a further announcement following the Government statement on Thursday.

I realise that some of you are now over due appts maybe by 3 wks at this time. I can only say that since the situation is not likely to change in the next few weeks you must do what needs to be done however you can. If thats keeping your dog mat free then that will be excellent, it will keep the airflow circulating and keep your dog cool (the coat is designed to do this) and if you are on regular repeat appts booked for the year you will slip back in on one of those, if not then I will prioritise the wool and double coated breeds over the rest and be fitting you in whilst working extra hours (on return). Those who fancy a go with the clippers, or have hairdressers in your immediate families, then if you feel you fancy a go then just be careful, nicks can happen if there are matts or skin not kept tight and watch the blade is not super short or clipper burn is a risk too. Just watch eyes, ears,"armpits", muzzles and ge****ls too, leave those bits if you are worried. Most will find a 6mm or 10mm (thats a number 2 and 3 for hairdressers) will do just fine and at the end of the day if its shorter that you normally like, its fine for the lockdown and grows back quickly so don't worry, your dogs not bothered what they look like....ever!
Anyone wanting more specific advice just get in touch via phone, text, whatsapp, email or facebook and I'll try to help.

Due to the speech tonight by Boris Johnson, I am closing for the foreseeable future. We are effectively in lockdown. Stay safe and I'll be back when we reach the other side. X

I've finished for Christmas but would like to thank everyone for their loyalty and custom over the past year (and much longer for most) and all the gifts and tips you have so generously given me. I think back with fondness and sadness at the beautiful dogs that have been lost along the way, my own dear Penny included and to the 2 lovely customers that have been be taken by angels, may they rest in peace and their families find comfort in their time of sadness.

Happy New Year to everyone x

I will be re-opening for business on14th January, however I am, as usual pretty much booked up until week commencing 25th February, so please bare that in mind if you haven't already rebooked.

Those who block book for the year, I'm on with the task and should be able to give most of you your dates at your next appointment.

I will be increasing prices for some of you, but not everyone affected will be given fair warning on your next appointments and for the time being I'll be closing my books to new clients so I can concentrate alittle more on health issues arising closer to home (not me, although I am nursing a full blown cold atm).
