These are all of your beautiful babies that I have spent time caring for over the Christmas period, and each and every one of them have been an absolute delight.

PLEASE NOTE
Having worked the last 3 Christmases, I have decided that I will be taking time off for Christmas 2024 to spend with my family. I will be closing my diary from Sunday 22nd December 2024, and will be taking bookings from Thursday 2nd January 2025.
If you are thinking of going away for Christmas this year, then I would advise you to find alternative care for your pets sooner rather than later, as all of the cat sitters I know of, do not work over the Christmas period, and the majority of catteries are closed. Thank you to everyone who has used my services this year. Lesley xx

I spent last weekend looking after the incredibly handsome Ollie. We have a great arrangement when I'm there, I supply the catnip, and he resists the temptation to show me who's boss. He's the original gangsta cat❤️

I looked after Delilah & Tips this weekend. She loved playing with her new tunnel, whilst Tips peered through the window, acting like he had been thrown out, when in actual fact he was just being Mr Antisocial and refusing to have anything to do with us 🤣

Did a pop in visit to my little friends Buttons & Casper this week, but this time I got to meet their fabulous doggy brother Dexter. He is the cutest little, bum wiggling, tail wagging pup you ever did see 💙🩵💙

The gorgeous Lily & Andy were my companions last week. Andy was loving a new toy that I brought along, Lily, not so much. I think she's far too much of a lady to chase a red dot around the house 😊

Thousands of cats were despatched to the trenches during WW1 to keep rodent numbers down and act as early warning detectors for mustard gas. So many gave great comfort to the troops as companions and mascots. How many cats survived we will never know?
Paws At The Ready -

The cats of World War One had significant role in all the campaigns, we must honour their bravery too.
Give thought to all the kitties
who served in World War One.
A battalion of the finest
who never fired a gun.

What was their role?

Whether hunting rodents out at sea,
or loyal friends to men,
these many cats had vital roles,
time and time again.
The food was saved.

A common sight in trenches deep,
dispatching mice and rats,
the soldiers’ had a special bond
with many of these cats.
Many were treasured mascots.

Five hundred thousand cats were sent
to serve in the Great War.
Some detected mustard gas,
whilst others were off shore.

Some of the feline heroes -

Togo was the Dreadnought’s cat,
The Swan had their lad Ching.
Pincher was the Vinex’s mog,
it was luck they hoped they’d bring.
‘Martinpuich’ was aptly named,
by The 9th battalion chaps.
Pitouchi was the orphaned kit,
who’d survived on army scraps.

Spark Plug, Tabby and many more
were companions to the troops.
The feline unsung heroes,
those cats who became recruits.

We’ll never truly realise
just what these cats went through.
So spare a thought and give some thanks
for what they did for you!

I looked after some new little friends last week, Bailey & Mario. They have very different personalities as Bailey is still quite young, and she loves nothing more than winding up her big brother 🤣 They are both absolutely lovely 💕

I looked after the gorgeous Oscar & George for 10 days.
Not all cats are happy with having anyone other than their own humans around them, and George is one of these cats. Cat mum had told me that it was unlikely that he would come to me for playtime or cuddles, and would most likely hide when he heard me arriving. But she also knew that George would never be happy in a cattery, as the stress of being in a strange place would have been too much for him to handle. I did try desperately to get George to trust me, but he just wasn't keen on coming out to play. This situation can arise from time to time, but George had lots of treats left for him, and different toys each day, and of course his brother Oscar for company ♥️

Absolutely devastated that we lost our beautiful Ricky, quite suddenly last night. We've had 8 lovely years with him, and he was just the sweetest, loving little cat you could ever meet.
