Let us never forget the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and dedication of the heroes who responded in the aftermath 🕊️

Among those heroes was Bretagne, a golden retriever who, at the age of 16, was the last known search and rescue dog from the 9/11 disaster. She was one of 300 search and rescue dogs who played a vital role in the search, rescue, and recovery efforts at Ground Zero.

Bretagne lived an extraordinary life alongside her handler, Denise Corliss. Together, they formed an exceptional team that was deployed to numerous disasters over the years, including Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, and Hurricane Ivan. After gracefully retiring at the age of 9, Bretagne continued to serve her community by becoming a reading assistance dog at a local elementary school.

Her tireless dedication, bravery, and resilience made a profound impact in the face of overwhelming tragedy. Bretagne's legacy continues to inspire, reminding us of the deep bond between humans and their loyal canine companions💚
