After suffering a wall full of blue tacked hangers, which got marked, fell off regularly and were mainly hidden And then having another two daughters who were also beginning to win rosettes and the prospect of three bedrooms having the same make shift display, Jo thought there must be a better way to display these lovely, hard earned rosettes for everyone to see. The rosette hanger was hence born

and once gifted to Kelly she decided there was a real need for these in the marketplace - J & K Crafts was then born! Using Kelly's contacts in both the horse and dog world, we marketed the hangers as bespoke gifts and began attending local craft fares. We couldn't help but feel our stall was bare and lifeless and so we looked for other things to make and bake and plunged head first into the fabulous world of homemade horse and dog treats, guided by recipe books and taste test on our own animals. We now edge further and further into supplying locally sourced handmade and homemade goodies to local horse shops, the dream being to share our passion for the homemade and handmade with as many people as possible.

As we make our hangers from scratch, we can make any size required and after a recent request we have added a new size to our collection - Extra Large, measuring 46cms by 90cms, with a 50 cm pole, holding around 50 rosettes. Introductory price of only £19.99 (unpersonalised).
This price will stay until August 31st, so get ordering to keep all your rosettes on one hanger.

A week ago today the founding member of J&K Crafts married her best friend at Tanfield Railway and it was a truly magical day.
Though no longer involved with the business as she now works full time in her own very successful venture Horse Weighbridge North East, she was the one that set it up, had the ideas, designed the Web pages and logo, and got our initial contacts, which made us what we are today. For which we are forever grateful.

We are away celebrating a very special family occasion Saturday and Sunday, so will finish off and post Monday. Love it when a plan comes together.

Our Story

Hello fellow animal lovers! Thank you for visiting our page! J & K Crafts started from the combination of a mother's creative flair and the entrepreneurial vision of a 2nd year uni student. It all began with a single, handmade rosette hanger and a few local horse sales before gradually growing into a passionate and loving family ran endeavour focused on beloved pets and their besotted humans! Our mission statement - to bring the homemade and the handmade to pet-kind! We make no bones about the fact that we are chasing a big dream, but we enjoy every second of what we do and are certain we can make our dream a reality! We pride ourselves in creating bespoke handmade items alongside a range of delicious homemade treats to cater for pooch and horse (and eventually more!). Our range is vast and varied but always lovingly handmade. From rosette hangers to dog collars we are sure you’ll find something to suit your four legged friend. For J & K Crafts on tour, you will find us attending Northumbrian Farmers Markets, County Fairs and all over Etsy and social media. We support local causes and follow equestrian and canine sports around the country. Jo is the creative genius behind the majority of our products - although she'd never admit it. It was Jo who made the first ever rosette hanger for Kelly which in turn catalysed the whole concept of J & K Crafts. From bandanas to rosette hangers to play mats, Jo's careful hands thread every needle to ensure our products are made to the highest of standards. Jo's passion, determination and drive ensures that J & K Crafts stock levels match demand and whilst she juggles another two jobs along with another two children she pours every ounce of love and passion into J & K Crafts making it the success it is today.

KELLY

After receiving a rosette hanger from Jo and shouting "everyone will want one of these!" (aka 'the lightbulb moment'), Kelly considers herself the ultimate founder of J & K Crafts. An avid people-person, Kelly's connections within the Horse and Dog community has enabled J & K Crafts to go from strength-to-strength and develop more products which the customers want. Using a fair bit of day-dreaming coupled with a dash of business knowledge, Kelly has pioneered our logo, page, blog and even this very website. All-in-all, Kelly is the social media and marketing side of this duo, but she also boasts some fantastic treat baking skills too which means Jo isn't doing all the heavy labour alone!
