'A truly unmissable opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgeon to join us in our ever-expanding lameness referral clinic at Eden Veterinary Referrals.

We accept referrals nationwide and are proud to see many canines with lameness and gait abnormalities. Part of our success is our ability to identify and diagnose many soft tissue injuries with use of novel diagnostic methods such as musculoskeletal ultrasound, a rarely used tool in canine orthopaedic disease. Due to this we are seeing an ever-growing number of sporting and performance dogs and work alongside many veterinary physiotherapists to formulate patient rehabilitation and treatment programmes.

We are looking for an additional team member who has a real passion for soft tissue and orthopaedic conditions and one who can deliver outstanding patient-led care and client gratification. This role will entail the use of advanced diagnostics (MSK US, CT, MRI + Arthroscopy), orthopaedic surgery (should the candidate wish), and a variety of treatment options, all in an environment where clinical freedom and personal development are actively encouraged. We have modern, state-of-the-art facilities and a passionate and highly qualified nursing team.

Our final speaker for our upcoming CPD day is Dr Lowri Davies BVSc Dip ACVSMR MRCVS RCVS.

Lowri is a Specialist in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 1992. She developed her interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation whilst working in a specialist equine practice. In 2004 she established the SMART Referral Centre – the first specialised sports medicine and rehabilitation clinic for small animals in the UK. The clinics have a large, Europe wide client base and Lowri regularly lectures around the world. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2016 and is a past president of the British Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine association. Lowri is also a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain, The Royal Society of Medicine and the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association. Lowri has contributed to a number of texts on pain management and rehabilitation as well as authoring "Care of the Canine Athlete".

When not at work, Lowri enjoys travelling - preferably somewhere she can climb a mountain, ski down a mountain or ride across several mountains.

Our third speaker for our upcoming CPD day is Artaine Harte SRN, Dip Ani Phys. FAETC. IV, Ass-NVQ/QCF. Artaine is an Experienced Animal Physiotherapist and Canine Fitness Trainer.

"I started my professional career looking after two leggeds as an orthopaedic nurse, expanding into remedial therapy and sports massage.
As I have loved animals all my life, however, I gradually changed direction to treat four leggeds instead.
Although I have ridden and competed on horses for 20 years, dogs have been a constant companion.
Starting with myotherapy, I progressed to animal physiotherapy and later, canine conditioning.
I also run agility dogs and have competed fairly regularly.
Within the sphere of animal physiotherapy and canine conditioning, I have supported several high level agility dogs to enhance their performance including one of this year's Crufts winners."

She will be discussing 'Exercises for agility athletes, the specifics: devising appropriate strengthening, stamina
and flexibility programmes'

The next speaker for our upcoming CPD day is Amanda Morgan MCSP ACPAT A. She will be discussing the 'Fundamentals of Therapeutic Exercise'.
Amanda joined the SMART Clinic in May 2013. She qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2009 and went on to complete postgraduate studies in Veterinary Physiotherapy, specialising in equine and canine therapy. Amanda is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy.
Outside work, Amanda enjoys horse riding, walking her dog Cass and looking after her Welsh Cob Monty.

There are limited tickets available for the day and these will be available to members only for just 4 MORE DAYS. From the 1st of September, we will open ticket sales to non-members. Therefore if you want to secure your place, make sure to register soon!

Meet the Speaker: For our upcoming CPD day, one of our speakers is Aarti Kathrani BVetMed (Hons), PhD, DACVIM (SAIM & Nutrition), FHEA MRCVS.
Aarti is a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College and will be speaking on the principles of Nutrition.

Aarti graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2006, before completing her rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, RVC, in 2007 and her PhD in canine inflammatory bowel disease at the RVC in 2011. Aarti then completed a three-year residency program in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University in 2014 and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She also completed a two-year small animal clinical nutrition residency program at the University of California-Davis in 2016. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Nutrition). Aarti was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Bristol between 2016 and 2018, before returning to the RVC in 2018.
